I think you're thinking of Most Wanted - which is basically the spiritual originator to this title :)
The added bonus being that the controller will break before your TV if an unfortunate "flinging" incident did occur ;)
This game is a stupid amount of fun! Still think it could of been cheaper...

Could not agree more mate! SMB is one of the best titles of this year regardless of price or platform. Great title and worth the 1200 points.
I thought to myself "If Shank is 400 or 600 MSP then I will buy it". But at 800 MSP it still feels a little to much.

I thought I made it pretty clear that I don't approve of these tabloid headline grabbers. But I do acknowledge they will exist as long as people fuel them with hits - just like print media like national enquirer will . It crud but some people want the lowest common denominator.

As I said there are many sites out there feeding this line of crap to the masses. Ted made some good points - we should be concentrating on reporting news properly for the whole industry. But look at Movie or Music journalism. It's "X is sleeping with Y" or "Q does 10 lines of coke and knobs a Llama". Why vilify the games press for this?

I never said they should NOT speak up my friend. I simply meant they need to take the fact they are opening themselves up for public opinion and speculation with their statements. They play the game and sometimes they loose when PR does not go their way.

What I'm trying to say is I guess that if you think your game is definitely better than the score given then you're in your right to object. Some sites & reviewers will go out of their way to hand out an extreme score just for notoriety . If Bethesda thought this was the case then they are surely in their rights to refuse to support the site financially with ads etc.

It won't be a day 1 purchase for me but that is more due to time than anything else. I just don't have the time until nearer Xmas/the new year to dedicate to this style of game. Oh but when I do this will be first on my list for sure!
I liked this when I played it at the weekend. It looked, felt and played just like Burnout Paradise but with the Most Wanted car chase parts in it. The engine has been spruced up a bit too and the whole thing moved really well. Should be a great little title when it ships and the MP will last for a good few months too.

To be honest for a moment Fallout 3 was not the best looking of games. It was good for an open world RPG BUT it was hardly pushing the boundary visually.
I can say that the GFX on F: New Vegas are better than Fallout 3 but they still have an odd brownie goldie sheen to them that makes them look a little odd. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the visuals when it ships.
