Good points. And also some people have downplayed how Nintendo Directs only "focus on fans". Well, Nintendo's games sell gazillions so the "fans" are all they could consider. But that will not be the case. Nintendo will broadcast all over social media. Any big game announced will get all the coverage in the world.
I could see future E3's going in this direction if it works for Nintendo.

The worst console launch is Kinect! MS and anybody who has touched it knows that 99% of it's games are still sad.
So glad Luigi's Mansion 2 is selling well everywhere. Deserved.
Wii doesn't need defending. It has many awesome games that score as high as 97 on metacritic. Kinect hasn't proved to be a critical success in the games department.
Whoever disagreed is lying to themselves. 3DS is about to get Monster Hunter 4 and Pokemon X Y and own the rest of the year in japan.

A new 3D Mario will be spectacular. Heck, start the show with it! I still remember seeing Galaxy for the first time. Loved both 1 and 2! Super Mario 64 and Sunshine are classics. It's just exciting!
