Because they only care about the money now. Action is where the money is. That's also why we have online passes. How come a game can suck but they can still have an online pass.

true, after playing more last night i figured alot more out such as you dont have to build a warhawk supply building, you can go up to one already built and require one by pressing square(using some rift energy). Im getting it now. what i like the most is just building little random bases by myself and players spawning at it and having everything set up at that base such as the weapons depot and some turrets set up. exactly with the warhawk segment you mentioned. i feel there isnt going to be many big dog fights if they keep it like this. now you have to rely on your team to build a bunch of hawk bases and in most cases that i have witnessed there wasnt many set up. i felt glued to the ground because the 3 hawk bases that were built were already taken and i didnt have enough to build my own(Takes a little while to build up to the required rift level). Well there was the first red faction. It was basically total recall. One of my favorite movies. As for an immortal, I don't really see how they could do it. Yes to half life or uncharted style but keep it first person like the first red faction.
