It would but they probably couldn't do anything with the Disney license.
Microsoft doesn't much care what happens with the Xbox One
It's a lost cause
The whole strategy around the Xbox 360 and One was conceived way back at the end of the Xbox 1 cycle whereby Microsoft was going to try to "own the living room".
The world has changed. The strategy is no longer relevant because there is no more "living room" to own.
Smartphones, tablets, laptops and PC's with Steam, ...
Ubisoft turns every game into a factory produced, soulless enterprise that appeals to the lowest common denominator gamer.
The funny thing is that I don't even remember Sony claiming the PS4 was that much more powerful than the Xbox One.
It was the community who looked at the specs and assumed that to be the case. I think Sony just "went with it" because it was a perception in their favor.
Does anybody have any source of information from Sony where they stated that the PS4 was more powerful than the Xbox One?
It better get a 10/10.
It took 5 years and $265 million dollar and over 1000 people.
This isn't that impressive people. GTA is the Walmart of game franchises.
You're actually not correct here.
Clock speeds matter. They matter A LOT.
The problem is that from a power, cooling and noise perspective you have to basically treat the consoles like a gaming laptop.
If the CPU's were running at 3.4 GHZ then 1080p 60FPS would probably be the norm.
These consoles perform like mid range PC's or gaming laptops.
The 1.6 GHZ CPU's will probably be their biggest limitation
Ubisoft has become a game factory.
Bethesda .. please save us from this nonsense.
Doesn't matter
The Microsoft Xbox venture has been failure from a profitability and growth standpoint. They've lost billions and they will never recover.
Just so that everybody doesn't just think I am some Sony apostle.
The Playstation brand has been a disaster since the highly successful PS2 era ended. They're lost billions and will NEVER see that investment back.
Microsoft and Sony and now locked in a game...
It's amazing how paying for something you already paid for before is a value.
Let the Skyrim modders at it and it will be an interesting game in 4 weeks.
The future is multiplatform.
Kids will have a gaming PC, a console (or two). A smartphone, a tablet, a VR headset, a laptop ...
Sony and Microsoft are massive companies that can incur years of bad, money-losing quarters.
But how long can that continue?
This is the real issue.
The writing is on the wall for consoles.
Microsoft and Sony still haven't figured out how to make their respective console divisions profitable since the PS2 era ended.
You guys are crazy if you think Sony and Microsoft are going to develop another console again in 5 years and watch their install base go back to zero again.
If you follow the industry analysis this is the reality:
Microsoft has lost billions of dollars on their Xbox venture and it is NOT considered a key part of the company's core business and growth strategy.
Sony has been hemorrhaging money for years. There's no evidence that the...
There's no way MS or Sony release another console.
The whole idea of a single device that sits in the living room from which the whole family consumes content is obsolete.
Each individual member of the household is now consuming content from any number of personal devices (tablets, laptops, PC's, smartphones, consoles etc..)
Sony and Microsoft have lost billions in their respective console ventures and the prospects of becoming profit...
The problem is that Sony and Microsoft haven't figured out how to make money on their respective console ventures.
They will never see the billions they've lost returned.
When Bethesda releases a Fallout or Elder Scrolls game
This idea that Ubisoft is going to throw away thousands of lines of code and create a "new engine" is the OLDEST trick in the book to get people excited for your next project.
It's a ridiculous ploy.
I'm not convinced that DDR5 and better GPU matter when your CPU's are only clocked at 1.6 GHZ.
Sorry PS4
You're unbalanced.
Maybe tree animations kill framerates and developers have to balance features and performance to give users a good overall experience.
Maybe a 1.6 GHZ CPU can't perform miracles.
