GamerPS360, point is the lighting fx. That's what's impressive to most people and you can tell by the lighting,water amount going on it's looking decent.
As far as alpha fx and lighting, you really should check out resistance 3, nothing short of awesome.
9mb a sec vs 8-16mb correct, but 360 cannot push that speed all the time, texture is stored on fastest part of the disc for everygame.
It's more like 9mb vs 12mb, also the PS3 does indeed have higher quality textures for rage.
What i found funny though, is that this pc guy around here kept slagging of PS3 pics of RAGE, Stating they were low rez, when infact they were the PC VERSION,LOL.
Problem is for people playing on couch the distance really does make a difference, i'm not saying you cannot tell. But it's not enough to go OMFG 1080p wtf holymoly, jive ass dude aint got no brains anyhow, you can tell me i'm a doctor type thing.
kris, i'm not sure really why people like GEARS tbh, all i see when the chainsaw cuts through ppl is stupidness, not quite sure how one can get excited by that. Same old crap time and time again. The running animation in gears is fking awful as well.
But yes BF3/UC3 are the best games this holiday by miles.

Pixel pusher, i played CRYSIS2 on PS3/PC lol. Sweet game and alot better then the first game imo.
First game bored me, second game is alot more exciting.
Best open world game is Infamous 2 by a country mile.

Seriously i got F1 2011 for PC, got it maxed out, looks goodish.
But the characters in the garage, people passing by look like utter crap.

R3 is 960x704.
It was dropped that far down because of the superior lighting and fx effects. I already know to do R3 on 360, it would have output at 512x364, rofl.
I've already asked the Insomniac team to increase the rez in a patch, similar to what happened with ghostbusters and to turn off the qaa.
The game itself is excellent and runs smoothly, MP is good fun also.

Reason the 360 version ran better with fallout was because it wasn't doing as much graphically at that time. normals were missing on 360.
