I wouldn't count it out as well, and yes it def is a different direction. To me it will come down to story and content. FF15 is geared towards a different audience this time around (which is not a bad thing).

Hmm I dunno, I am fairly new to the recording scene. Just started this year. I use Roxio HD and am able to record up to 720p, with ease. Would the Roxio be considered a work around?
Yes, 10 min video are a lot more popular as people tend to lose focus after like 15 mins, and for a walkthrough it sucks having to scroll through an hour long video to find what you need.
I Think ppl enjoy third party hardware for recording for the editing. Now I am sure you could upload your video from PS4/ X1 software to like youtube then extract that video then edit, but seems like a lot more work. Not to mention my videos would be saved on my PC's HDD not my console&...
I am sure it supports hardware just like the PS3 did. I don't think Sony worried about it to much to make it a statement.
