What im really wondering is if these services are being put in place for a move towards a service based format.im slightly concerned that the next consoles MIGHT be the last consoles as we know them.

I bought the ps4 at launch and I also run two PCs for music creation that I play the odd game on . My hackintosh build has a gtx 560ti in it( i also run mame on this build) and My main build has a gtx670. but since getting my X1 at xmas It wasted no time in establishing itself as the alpha gaming device, in my house.
the two iteration of forza ( FM and FH) have filled my racing needs. I am in no rush to replace either with a new racer. ...
Between this. MS unifying its W10/Xbox platforms and sony looking to stick PSNOW on non PS devices (PC, smart TV), I see drastic changes for the next gen of consoles. I wish nintendo all the best with this.

The game has been getting stellar scores across the board. What "damage control" do MS need to be doing, if everyone has high praise for this game? ORI is an excellent game. No if or buts about it.

Well said zay. The order had terrible reviews and still sold over a million copies. No reason that cant apply to a BF:hardline sequel. And I hope it happens, because I like this game.

I would buy a 3DS just for this....hmmmm.
My first console was a nintendo (that was in 1986) supported them right up to the game cube. Missed out on the wii and never owned a gameboy/DS or any other portable console. I still have a soft spot for them and will by a wiiU at some point, seeing as they got some proper games coming out.
And this is why both companies should have gone for something better than the jaguar APU.
I REALLY hope this is a 5-6 year cycle before next gen consoles are announced. In the meantime. Lets just enjoy the games.

If you did a poll of hardcore BF fans, I guarantee you the last thing they care about is the campaign BF started as a MP centric game on PC. Its always been MP first. The story mode is just a waste of time in my books. I played BF4s campaign because it was there. But after beating it within a few hours I went straight back to MP and thought nothing more of it. That is the phyche of the average BF player. Or anybody that mostly plays competitive FPS (myself included).

Really? I consider it the best new ip of last gen. Started 5 playthroughs on ME1 and finished all 5 playthroughs on ME3. I would do it once more in the form of a HD remake, making my 'perfect' choices in one play through.

To be fair, thats enough for BF fans (myself included.). I would have agreed if you said, maybe it should be cheaper because it feels like a reskinned BF4. But I disagreed because you expect it to be something other than a battlefield game. This is a BF game and thus should not deviate from the formula too much. The cops and robbers theme was a good way to go. They could have just made another sci fi shooter but with SW:BF coming, that would be pointless. WW2 has been done to death...So cops ...
Bad Idea, from there perspective. Hurst sales of X1 to do that. Halo, gears, forza are three Xbox games that need to stay put.
