Initial sales while important, don’t represent the whole picture. Hardcore fans, the ones unlikely to be dettered, will usually get the games at launch, whereas the others will wait, and hence maintaining the momentum is just as important. Just go ask Activision, and Bungie, or Ubisoft about the player count of their loot boxes riddled games after launch.
Your deflect game is weak son.
“ The economics of single-player-only titles is "complicated" in today's industry due to the dramatic and constant evolution of the game market.“
Except Sony and Nintendo both has been funding SP games since they entered the gaming business, while still catering to the modern times ( online, motion controls, ... etc). Trying to blame this on budget then using a successful SP game made by a very small studio like Moon Studios to make a point shows her cluelessn...
I like to support SP games which offer a complete experience. I am 13 hours into the game and it is worth the full price. We can’t complain about micro transactions, then go renting games, at the very least get it digital later on when the price drops to benefit the devs.
I was hesitated whether to get Origins or The Evil Within 2, after reading this I am so glad I went with the later.
Well to be fair, Sony and Nintendo are showing trailers for their new exclusives, whereas MS is showing a trailer for a year old “ exclusive “, what do you expect them to do ? You gotta make your own victories, and they are doing so. Good for them
To maintain the momentum of a brand name throughout four generations is no easy task (Halo/CoD come to mind). If you were correct, then GT6 would have easily outsold GT5 on launch, given the higher install base, but people didn't see enough reasoning to buy GT6 as they did with GT5 (despite similar critic reception). In this case, GTS outsold GT6 on launch, meaning plenty of people thought the game is worth their money regardless of the brand name.
Given how many people have Plus and Gold, I persumed more people played LoTF. It seems that a rather large number just has the services solely to play online.
That first pic, wow @ GTS. No wonder people keep saying cars looks photorealistic. I didn’t believe them till now.
Lol the opinion argument crap. Try again.
Game was announced for PC already, exclusive went out of the window back then.
Pretty much shows that the vocal internet communities don't always reflect the interests of mainstream audiences. Funny thing is at Capcom actually projected RE6 to sell 7 million copies during launch year. Always overconfident.
EA, and WB execs are probably banging their heads against the wall for not thinking about this first
TLOTR The Return of the King is probably my fav coop game of all time. Gutted to hear this
You mean like this ?

Given that it was officialy stated before that it is basically an always online game. Why would anyone be surprised ?

I assumed by Steam reviews that the game was well optimized for PC, given how many are praising how well it is running :/.
I tried to ignore a component of the game so I can give it a favourable score.
Bravo, you just proved his point.
I was speaking generally, and I suggest you also take a look at all critic reviews , as well as user reviews/ratings at MS store, where alot of people are definitely “bothered by it”.
@Obscure_Observer Using GR2, a sequel to make your point. This is priceless lol. Try again please.
