My initial reaction to them splitting up the season was, let's just say, negative.
But when I really thought about it I realized that THIS IS THE END. There will not be another season.
The way I see it now? I get to look forward to it, one last time. I get to have it in my life for one more year, instead of just eight weeks.

I downloaded episode three yesterday. I will be saving it for after the mid-season finale of Breaking Bad this Sunday. I'm really looking forward to playing this. I hope episodes four and five release as quickly as three did.
I just completed American Mcgee's Alice earlier today.
I purchased Alice: Madness Returns which of course comes with the first game.
I'm going to play something else, then after that come back and play Madness Returns for the first time. I am looking forward to it.

I purchased the game for twelve dollars. I enjoyed it.
It being cheap went a long way for me.
Hell fallout 3 and Enslaved are very cheap. If you haven't played them give it a shot.
It's certainly less of a gamble when you aren't throwing down sixty+ dollars for a game.

I thought the same thing after episode one. Thinking "that was literally awesome. But my only complaint was that it was too short".
Meaning of course that it excelled in getting us hooked, and leaving us wanting more.
I also, quickly, thought about the fact that at five bucks a pop equalling twenty dollars for the whole season, is as you said more value than many AAA games that are released nowadays.
