I can't begin to presume how he* feels when it comes to Metal Gear Solid. I can completely get wanting to do some new. I also completely get not being able to let go.
I would imagine Metal Gear is like a girlfriend to him. Maybe he thought it was best for him to move on at some point and he breaks it off. I.e. him initially handing the development of Peace Walker to his team.

I don't understand. How has having the option to earn trophies taken* the fun out of anything?
Also, how does that up the amount of people with attention deficit? If anything it takes more effort(?) to go back after you've beaten a game and achieve specific requirements needed to obtain the trophy.

I think a huge part of the problem is that people try to make GAY characters, when they should be making CHARACTERS who happen to be gay. That's just my take on it though.
