They updated the post, announcing it was fake.
Sorry that is an incorrect title, game is set for release in 2012 this is just a teaser trailer.
All the pieces are in place, now lets see if it amounts to anything :P
It is a world and community I was woven very deep in to in the past, I really enjoyed it when I was younger. It is good to see that there are still people who value the power of word and thought, and I hope it is a community that never dies.
text-based multiplayer games are what spawned what inevitably became the MMOs we play today. They were the trendsetters, but now they aren't; this generation is too twitch/gfx fixated. This doesn't mean I don't think that Iron Realms aren't doing some great things, they have some great features over there and a thriving community.. it just isn't for me.
Text-based games are a relic, relics can still survive in the modern age if given the proper care. Not s...
Generally when people stop playing them.
Yeah.. text based games really don't cut it for me either :P
I can write pages and pages about an awesome house, i'd rather see it in a 3D environment, interact with it etc. While MUDS etc have their place, and there are still a few gems around they are far from being the trendsetters anymore.
The problem is, we know Square Enix can make good games; they have just strayed from the path.
Well if anything the industry is empowering the indie/solo developers more and more.
Good luck! Let us know if you ever finish a project :)
The whole game seems to be one big social expirement, put the government and the world in the hands of players and see how it evolves.
Apparently the playerbase isn't as big as it used to be but there are enough die hard fans in the game to make it interesting, you get known very quickly and people take notice of your actions.
It was purely required to be added to the list because it really is something everyone must experience once.
All he did was take scans from a european magazine. Not even worth linking to.
What people forget is that it also depends on the TV. If you are running the game on a TV with 1024x768 res it is going to have the same resolution textures.. and look terrible.
They now invade facebook it seems too :P can never escape the almighty MapleStory.
There was map editors right up until Modern Warfare 1, they let you build maps from scratch using the models and textures within the game or ones you made yourself.
You essentially just outlined the basic functions of a map editor and called it your idea, put a little bit more thought into it next time :) don't just flesh out "I want a map editor" with useless fluff.
Yeah, they say they are number one and I like to believe them. There are some upcoming F2P titles that may change that however, but as the article says if Nexon keeps doing what they are doing and constantly strive to improve they will stay on top.
Not everything can make it into the Top 5 each month; we can only pick our personal favourites. :)
Vindictus has only just began beta in Europe; we've been playing it non-stop for 2 days, it'll be in the next Top 5, I guarantee it. ;)
I imagine there would be a much higher difficulty rating in monetizing a game where your target demographic is generally still at the age where currency is a concept they don't grasp.
Might be something that will never be approached in the right way, but I assume a lot of parents would be paying the sub to keep their kids from complaining about the surveys :)
Same, gonna be great :D
