More gamer entitlement. Cross play / progression was never a thing before this year and suddenly it is an embarrassment or ego. MS and Nintendo are doing it because they have to. Sony isn't because they don't have to. The end.

But they are. This is entirely about money, otherwise why? You think it is to simply hold it over certain heads? Allowing a person to buy products through an Xbox or Switch portal, giving them a percentage of the profits, to be played on your system where you get nothing.

What I see as an immediate difference is being able to instantly interact with the creation. Nothing seems to take so long that you lose any interest. Plus being able to borrow and manipulate other peoples work. Designing a car might be a lot, but borrowing one and editing it may not.

Actually... people that can't appreciate other opinions and views of the world are kinda what is ruining it for me.
The sad truth is that game publishers are not patrons of the arts. They are out there to, like you and me, make money. They are not obligated to take risks and none of us can say that we wouldn't make the same calls if millions of our dollars were on the line. If we want change, it will from within. Vote with your wallet.
The truth is, every console that is on top is "egotistical". Nintendo has done it. Xbox has done it. When you have less pie, you want more pie. When you have more pie, you want to keep that pie. Right now, Xbox and Switch have everything to gain and Sony has everything to lose
The problem is that consumers want just two or so choices. There is PUBG, there is Fortnite, and there will be others jockeying for third in an ever rotating third chair.
Because they redid it from the ground up. A remaster is a paint job and frame rate improvement. A remake is new code and they create the game again. These remakes are just 1:1 faithful to the originals.
