Its the same engine modified ofcourse but alot of the GTA IV code has been used; and even 1UP stated it has alot of GTA IV's DNA.
GTA IV was a well done game; just plain and alot of the same we had before; this brings TONS TONS TONS to the table that only some MMO's wish they had.
This franchise will be HUGE, I smell an MMO in the future, this is what I should of felt going from GTA SA to GTA IV.
Just dumped off my old Openworld games. This will replace them all.

I guess a more city based setup would allow them to shrink the scope and make it possible for consoles. Consoles have always done this to games that come from PC's; When haven't they?

I have to disagree; only reason would be the new 1GB developer kits for the Xbox.
You know the kits you've had since forever; MS is actually trying to milk every bit of RAM, Performance out of the system; developers couldnt fully use all of the RAM for optimization and tweaking with the previous 512RAM kits; meaning resolution and texture quality suffered.

Look at the video cards in most of the systems; very weak and not upgradeable. Apple made a HUGE mistake in reguards to this. Of course it'll grow since there wasnt really anything there to begin with, but not very much i think.
Not everyone owns a new mac, and when someone buys a mac usally keep it for many years versus upgrading to a newer model.
I like valves system, closest experience to XBL on PC.
+ All downloadable games (properly priced).
