It seems like there’s a big misunderstanding when it comes to Scorn. You’re exactly right, it’s an atmospheric experience that’s meant to make you directly relate to the main character, feeling and experiencing the same sights, sounds, and emotions.
I personally love it, but it’s definitely more of an interactive art piece than a “game”.
Gotta disagree with you there. One of the greatest things about Scorn is that you’re thrown in with literally nothing and you discover as you go, just like the main character.
This isn’t the game to have your hand held. It’s not a run-and-gun shooter, it’s an atmospheric experience that’s meant to make you feel lost and helpless at times.
That may not be your thing, but that’s how it was intentionally designed.
Another cool thing about this project is that it’s looking into making streaming headsets like the Quest 2 compatible with the PS5 (with the addition of a third-party built adapter/converter box).
Very exciting stuff.
Am I missing something? It looks exactly the same, just higher resolution… Is this sarcasm?
Lest ye forget, Star Citizen is also an indie title. It’s 100% crowdfunded, regardless of what the development costs add up to so far.
SC is also a vastly different scope, both in gameplay and graphics quality.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for Starfield too, but you can’t really compare the two of those either if you don’t want to throw NMS in the mix.
This is one of the myriad reasons I’ll never give Nintendo another dime. The way they treat their customers is an embarrassment to the gaming community.
You’re absolutely right, for the exorbitant price of Expansion Pass they should be offering much more.
PSVR would be great, but you’re missing the point if you think the combat needs to be worked on. The main character isn’t Doom Guy…
It’s not meant to be easy, and there are times when you’re meant to feel afraid and like you might not survive. It’s an intentional design of the game for you to experience that.
I would even argue that one particularly memorable encounter is some of the most fun I’ve had with a “boss fight” in my gaming history.
