Releasing Natal this year would be like releasing the Wii without any killer apps and only a collection of tech demoes...oh wait.

Seriously though, they are going to launch when the tech is not a tacked on experience, or a mini-game...gamers want a fully emmersive gameplay experience, not another Xbox Live Vision Camera.

Update: Lionhead says these projects were abandoned which makes me think (hope) they have something better up their sleeve. I've been playing Fable 2 by the way, and though I didn't really like Fable 1, the new game is fantastic.

"Alive", well from a business perspective, Microsoft is doing fine and delivering quality games and services. Meanwhile, with Killzone 2 and a $300 price-point I may finally buy a PS3, and help Sony with their financial woes a bit. I thin...

The concepts (and ideas) are fantastic for both Survivors and Justice, but if Leading Light is pre-announcing (Microsoft's) Lionhead Studios' productions, they are going to be in for a big fat lawsuit. These are multi-million dollar products each and MS likes to play it's cards close to it's vest. Putting these in the public domain will likely spawn copy-cat software and hurt Microsoft Game Studios sales.

Or it's all part of a carefully orchestrated plan and at least one of the...

I spent about as much time reading his article as Evan Moore spent playing Mass Effect, which means I didn't read past the title and my full understanding of the piece is based on other people's opinions. Mass Effect is in no way, shape or form, another "Hot Coffee", but that won't stop people like Evan from jumping aboard the censorship bandwagon decrying interactive entertainment as the Devil's playground. People like Evan (<- Ultra-conservative a-holes) are the problem with ...

Agreed. It's a UV test textured object that was linked to the spire object (each spire is a duplicate which is why all the 'eggs' appear in the same place in relation to its parent object, the spire). Cheers!

Sounds like parellel processing on 5 SPUs is causing up to 27% DMA Waiting during Data Fragment Collection.

I wonder how long it will take to invent a way around this problem?

Getting into the infrastructure of football to service athletes, management and fans is a pretty great idea. I give him 4+ years to implement it. =)

I'd like to see some better art direction and lighting in Madden though. It still feels a bit flat and it doesn't really play to the drama of the game.

Edge has a great article that goes into detail about the map editor, The Forge. Customizing and sharing maps will really give Halo 3 legs for years.

After reading Edge Magazine which revealed the details of The Forge, Halo 3's multiplayer map-modding and sharing tool, I am more excited than ever! Also, the user-generated movie tool sounds amazing because you can learn from the strategies of the best players by watching some of their games.

These are trully amazing next generation features.

but this rumor has been debunked. Go read the article titled "Rumour Crushing: Unreal III Not Cross Platform" or just read this:

"We'll also allow people to choose whether or not they want to allow mixed controller vs. keyboard/mouse games or not."
Some 'sources' have now managed to morph this into the 'fact' that Unreal Tournament III will be cross-platform PS3 and PC.
Strange, because at 4.29pm on the same day, Rein actually pointed out th...

This will help sales a bit (and Halo 3 a bit more) but I think MS should have done it a few weeks ago during or before E3. They let Sony claim most of the attention with their $499 60Gig PS3 which is selling much better now. MS needs to finish that new 45nm chip, completely fix the reliability issues, drop the core to $200 and then they'll see some big numbers.

I play Viva Pinata with my little girl and we have a great time with it. It's actually a very deep game! If the reviews for VP:Party Animals are good, and the demo is fun, I'll buy it.

GTA4 was built off of the Table Tennis engine on 360, so it would make sense that the Xbox version was the lead dev platform. Porting to PS3 from 360 has been difficult for many top developers so I don't blame Rockstar.

I wonder then why they aren't going to finish the 360 version and release it first. Take-Two is having financial issues and the influx of revenue would certainly help them, not to mention the 50 mil contract they have with MS. Is Rockstar purposefully tryin...

It is a bit unclear, but if you read the article carefully, he is talking about Game Saves which will require either a memory card or the HDD. Cheers.

Peter Moore is moving to EA to head up their Sports division. And a former executive of EA (don't know his name) is replacing Peter.

It probably would hurt MS a bit more but it will depend on how they spin it. MS could hurt Sony's rep if they reinforce the image of the PS3 as a difficult system to program for and the cause of the delay (an unconfirmed rumor speculated by Pachter).

My feeling though is that both versions will greatly benifit from the extra polish time resulting in a better GTA4 which is a win for all gamers. Also, with such a crowded slate of great titles coming for the 360 this holiday, it...

Game reviews based on pre-Gold code should clearly state this or simply be given a preview rating. Also, since it is a matter of record that Sony has been silently selling an improved six-axis without the 'dead-spot' it should be noted in the review/preview which version of controller is being used.

You can't add a Wiimote-like device to a PS2 and expect that it would be compatible with the existing library. Each game would need to be specifically coded and I'm not sure how many companies would want to put resources into its already budget priced (used) titles. It's possible that a genre like racing could accept a similar control scheme to use on different games but there would be too many variations in platformers, shooters, sports, puzzles, RPGs, etc. to generalize a 'one scheme fits...

I can't see anything wrong with a company re-targeting a product to another platform if A) It makes economic sense to do so, meaning that the profits will out weigh the costs and B) It's not simply a port but a re-working of the art assets and code to take maximum advantage of different hardware.

Moot point, I know, seeing as 2K has already squashed this rumor.
