no matter what the outcome....this site will eat it up...whether it be Sony or the hackers who prevail
people are assuming too many things without any concrete info on the case, and many dont even want to inform themselves properly on how far these hacks have gotten since the hacker convention....
SP only games on the 360 have it much tougher than other platforms
the funny thing is that people think the master key is copyrighted....if it was, then it wouldnt be a secret...its just a sequence of random numbers and letters meant to protect the system against security hacks...if anyone watched the 40 minute video...the failoverflow guys showed the equation used....geohot just basically solved it...and that is how he posted the root key
too many legal problems imo...especially with emulators being able to run IPs such as Mario..Zelda...and so on...idk much about publishing rights for old games as the ones that the emulators can play...but im sure if Sony made it official...royalties would have to be paid, but thats just my guess
well that was a pointless post
really? did not know that...thanks for the info
a positive could be no sales tax...thing is hard copy games are actually sold for $50 to retailers and then they add the other $10 to gain revenue on the inventory that they have in stock...now if PSN/XBLA decided to charge the same price when the retailer is taken out of the equation, then yes we would lose out and i feel like less games would be sold that way...plus future machines would need to have at least 500GB HDD's if this is the way the industry is heading
thing is, some gamers dont associate fun with the difficulty of the game...easy, normal, hard...im sure everyone finds fun in each of those settings...some people like the challenge...others just the enjoyment of the game no matter how hard
games like GTA and AC dont have a difficulty setting and people find it fun because there is a balance and it isnt over the top difficult or too easy
really? 1st, what was the point of that
like i said before...there is a lot that can change in the coming days and even months...this is a restraining order for both geohot and failoverflow to stop any further spread of their programs
remember that this is SCEA suing since they have the DMCA behind them which could backfire if someone uses the Apple argument against Sony....idk what the laws are in other countries...but if we go back to the lawsuit Sony had t...
i want to know when steam works will be making its debut on the PS3, there hasnt been much news about it since last years E3
there must be a reason why its so easy to do this with basically every CoD game...devs dont care enough to change up the programming and hackers take advantage of their laziness since it continues to sell, so why bother fixing something that is broke when it works?
weird question, but nonetheless it does work
reminds of the LG logo since they used the same colors...gray and red
people say that Sony have deep pockets....but to go after every hacker that has jailbroken their PS3 which is not illegal would rack up the costs for Sony, why do you think companies dont go after the thousands and millions of people that D/L movies and games through piracy....it would cost too much money to regain anything that they lost in the process...its a lose lose situation...one thing that interests me is that Sony is suing over the release of the Master Key, the problem is that Sony ...
this is the main component behind the Sony lawsuit....they haven't sued anyone yet until they have grounds to do so without losing on frivolous charges...other companies have done the same in the past...Apple tried the same with geohot and in the process jailbreaking an iphone/ipod isnt illegal as the courts said
and with the argument above me, geohot hasnt taken down the site, he has a link to the original webpage...its pretty easy to look up...people need to be more inf...
i've already said this once...but people arent getting what a TRO is
No one has been sued yet and this isn't really even a "lawsuit", again, yet. All Sony has filed is a Motion for TRO (temporary retraining order) asking that all jailbreaking tools and information be removed from the web and all hardware associated with such tools be impounded. Sony has not filed a complaint for copyright infringement.

the guy actually thinks the desktop PC is done...FAIL on so many levels
am i the only one who sniped 8-Ball's head off when you had to blow up the Cartel cargo ship...the fun little experiments i did as a teen
they will cost $150
get it...get it :D, because.....ahh nevermind, people cant take a joke here
this suit has been brought up by SCEA...if SCEA thinks that it can go after hackers through US Law, then good luck to them...unless Sony as a whole goes after all of these hackers, then they will have to abide by the laws in which these hackers live
look at the pirate bay...many companies continue to throw US law at a site that originates in Sweden, so it makes US law null and void
imo, that would take too much money and effort to go after all of these guys.....
