Why? A 10 based, or 100 based scale just allows for minute things like .1 to be seen as difference. Since really what are the differences between a 9.6 and a 9.7? Are they not good games on their own right.
A system like this works best since what it does is group the good games with the good and vice versa.

You can say that about anything motion related, who wants to spend 150 on the move when you can do everything it does, for free, while getting exercise.
