I can think of two games that come close. Bioshock had an amazing story. And if you are talking about interactive storytelling Mass Effects story and dialogue sequences were brilliant. Oh and Final Fantasy 6 had a tremendously good story.

I agree completely, the third was by far the best in the series. Its tough, people that get so into one series cant admit that the game that was supposed to shatter the world really didn't. MGS4 is like Halo 3, just a victim of the hype machine.
Im guessing gears of war didnt need a demo since it has sold 5 million copies. Dont try to insult a game when it sold 2 million more copies the MGS4
between the single player game and 8 player coop there is no way that there is 420hrs of game play. Maybe if you include multilayer besides the 8 player coop then sure it probably does but then so does COD4 if you do prestige mode as much as you can. Its still unlocking stuff it might not be trophies or achievements but its repetitive things that dont add anything.
So wait because gears 1 was amazing gears 2 cant be like it or else its bad. What would you have them change from gears 1 to gears 2. Resistance one was a good game but had tons of room for improvement. Oh and if you believe that 420 hours thing you are an idiot. Its the same as me claiming gears 2 is 400 hours just so i can get that 10000 kill achievement it doesn't count.
No i dont care about the story. Im just happy i can buy LBP and play it and enjoy it. What i do care about is how people put so much faith in video game sites rather then just forming their own opinions.
I agree. You have all these idiots on the reviews where gears got a 4/5 saying oohhhh big flop and so on. 4/5 is a good score, you dont extrapolate it to 8/10 because it is based on a 5 point scale.

Really, I could say Bionic Commando the new version looks pretty bad, but if it turns out good it makes me wrong but who cares. Im not saying their wrong but who really cares except fanboys. Ya honestly. Ive played every MGS game except 4 and can tell from the picture exactly who is standing next to who. I wont spoil it for people that cant tell. And if that is the case the ending looks pretty dumb.
If your going by meta score for game of the year LBP loses. GtaIV has a higher meta score and by thus by your judgment is game of the year.

How can you argue against FCC. If Halo3 is a fail then obviously MGS4 is a fail as its sails were much lower. Critically MGS4 it received more favorable reviews but not much more. Honestly how is Halo corny and MGS4 not corny. Go read a good novel and you can compare it to the crappy MGS4 story. Give me a break at least gears 1 did something slightly new when it came out. Resistance is just a normal shooter. And honestly by your standards, the whole metal gear solid series must suck, final fantasy series must eat crap and god of war must also be terrible. If it works why not keep it and fine tune it.
