From this preview it sounds to me like the game will at least try to offer some new mechanics. I guess it's best to wait and see so we don't look like jackasses when the game turns out horrible/fantastic.

No, the MAIN issue, which is lag, has never been fixed. Period. That's what they need to adress for GeOWIII
If they do, GeOWIII will be amongst the greatest games of all time imo. I loved Gears 1-2, but the lag really killed it for me online.

Except for the fact that in Reach you have access to all "classes" and their powers from the start. Unlike KZ2 where you have to unlock them. So it's more like tf2 I guess.
