I have all the major systems and when we are not playing WiiU we are on PS4. Xbox doesn't get a lot play time unless I want to play Forza H2.

I'm surprised that the WiiU didn't reach 10 million sold.
I thought at least they would have sold 20 million.
I wonder if that's because 9.5 is the hardest core Nintendo fans and they bought the system or there are a lot more fans but they either stayed away from this system or are waiting for something like Zelda to buy it.

Every single review I read and saw though, post launch and after I played. Hated this game for multiple reasons. Many of which I encountered.

Every person with 2 eyeballs on their foreheads and the sense of a 3 year old stopped playing that lame game a month after release.
Then again, there isn't much to play so why not Destiny. I get it.
This game aitn for me. I like arcade racers and im tired of all these half and half games. Half simulators half arcade games. Or arcade games that fail to deliver FULL on ridiculousness.
To bad Dark Souls difficulty has tainted so many games.

In any case Forza Horizon 2 and DriveClub will have to do with the occasional NFS for good measure until someone, somewhere learns how to make Split Second 2, Blur 2 and Burnout again.

I was more concerned with playing it the first time speedy.
Although I didn't approve of the game, they should have left it in there. Let people vote with their wallets. The dev had a right to make whatever game he wanted and Steam shouldn't had pulled it.
After Hot Coffee, they are doing the right thing cost them upwards of 25 million to fix that problem AND they went on a PR tour making games like pingpong afterwards. So...yeah no mods people.

grainy visual upgrades to Bluray quality was something the market was screaming for, we needed it and we got it. 4k, 3D and VR we did not.
Also the human eye can only see but so much detail...wiki it up.

You know what all of these games have in common? They either wanted to be something unique and different or WHERE something original and different. Not this sequelitis and remaster syndrome we are suffering from nowadays.
If you take away one thing from this article is this: Critical acclaim and being unique equal no sales and therefore don't get made.

Can somebody, somewhere make a game that's not a sequel, not cut to pieces so we can pay for every little bit of it in chunks, not a game that was made in the last 20 years, no remasters. Something original and fun.
Doesn't even have to be triple A.
Hell even these rouge-lite games are all starting to look the same.

I think it may be a combination of things. Most if not all of what you mentioned @MacDonagh and even some of what @Metallow is saying plus probably some other date we haven't seen.
Its clear that while third party developers where quick to cash in on the Wii's success and attempt to make some kind of third party games for that system, they've all but abandoned the WiiU platform leaving Nintendo to fill the gaps.
I know partially Nintendo likes these kinds ...
