Because gamers don't bet on new IPs. As much as everyone says they hate Call of Duty or bring up as the reason why some games fail, that game sells a bunch of units. You would think that after all the negative comments about it, it would have sunk by now.
Yet, when new IPs come out, they are often not accepted as easily as the franchises are. Gamers still go to their favorite franchise games, despite their "hatred" ...

I would exclude Fallout from that list. But really the first 5 is just plain tired now. How long must we suffer those games? I don't want to see those titles by the time I have kids. Call Of Duty, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed-the crap is beyond ridiculous.

It's such a great setting for survival horror. You don't have to do much to incite anxiety or fear in the player. Just add in a desolate backdrop with abandoned buildings and cars that haven't moved in ages. Through a strange noise here and there. Maybe throw in a vulture. Honestly I thought that kind of goes hand in hand with certain Japanese games.
The original Xbox was a powerful system. And that was not widely talked about. I expect the Xbox One to follow in the same footsteps.
