8 cores will offer VERY little improvement over a high end quad core. The money would be better spent on some seriously fast RAM, and maybe some water cooling to allow some savage overclocking, my friends Q6600 (lowest quad core) is running at 3.8 per core with waterclocking and is perfectly stable.
FarCry 2 is being handled by EA.
From day one Crysis was designed to be 3 episodes (games).

EDIT @ Nano, well the new Alienware (yes rip off $5000) has Tri SLI Ultra's and can run crysis at 2550x1600 (or whatever that res is) at max with 8xAA at a stable 60fps, but once again $5000 (minimum)!!!
