while Ubuntu is attractive (free, good level of support etc) im a PC gamer first so i need the developer support only currently avaliable on Windows.
Long story short, M$ have me (and millions of others) by the balls on the OS front and now with them pushing "games for windows" (which isnt even free for full features) what hope do we have? Only Apple have the cash/following/support to pull developers away from Windows or at least get them to except the format.

But im the same, i like to try a demo before i drop the cash, but im buying MGS day 1 regardless, i just want the demo so i could just play a bit of it. i NEED to play abit of it!!

i dont think "to many users" is the problem either, unless the entire world is running off one server as he has the same problems at 4am. Also if that was the case, why do M$ carry on selling accounts when they know their system/servers cant handle it?
well your first mistake was buying from Alienware, you could of built a mega PC for the money they charge, and by the sounds of it you bought the lowest spec system.

My flatmate has been having problems with Live lately, here in the UK, is anyone else having issues? he cant join COD4 games, downloading takes an absolute age, or even getting stuck at say 75% etc etc
