I think what is changing is Nintendo getting aggressive in getting 3rd party support. Companies could have done this before, but they were afraid their games would not sell on a Nintendo platform. Now, Nintendo is trying to convince them that they can and will be supported on the Switch.

The PS4 has some good games and they will not hurt. Nintendo is doing great and they will keep on doing great. The X-Box One X will start out strong, but they need more exclusives to keep the momentum going.

I do not care if the Switch beats the PS4, it could by the end of it's life cycle, what matters to me is Nintendo is back. When everyone said they would go out, they came back firing like a champ. They did. I think Nintendo wanted to show everyone they are not done. This direct should have been their E3, which was really good, but this direct was better than their E3 showing. Also, Nintendo is finally starting to listen to their fans a lot. (They still got some memory issues to deal with) but they are giving great games, lots of great exclusives and lots of diversity. That is much better than what Sony and Microsoft.
