Here is the link to the actual article rather than the main site, which didn't show up on the article itself after I posted it for some reason:

This is not even CLOSE to what the article is inferring, if you actually read it.
This article definitely comes off the wrong way if you don't read the actual content. I didn't really realize this at first.. Two key points the article makes that don't quite come across which I'd like to make clear:
One - gamers seemingly have been sladered one way or another virtually since it began, so it's not like this is anything new. And two - rather than fighting back through gamergate, it seems to me that one could truly make the biggest impact b...
So THIS is now considered offensive.. Dear god, this entire country is losing its damn mind
I definitely don't see Zelda making it for this year, considering how open world it is likely going to be. As long as it's a solid game though, I can wait until 2016.
Oh good grief, people have been barking up this tree since the early 90's. I will never understand this obsession people have with Nintendo going third party. Just buy their damn consoles, people! They're not that expensive!
Nintendo is never going to "sell out" and make games on other consoles. And why the hell would they help out their direct competitors, Sony and Microsoft, by making games for them?
This mobile thing is a separate entity...
As long as the NX is a separate entity that continues the usual business of dedicated consoles for Nintendo with exclusive games - which I think it will be, I don't see the issue. I see the mobile direction acting almost as an advertisement for Nintendo's games, that will in turn draw more people to their home console and its games.
What is wrong with Nintendo exploring different avenues (especially when said avenue will open the doors to much more potential software...
No, it's alive because Mario games are (usually) of quality. Nostalgia alone cannot bring in the massive sales the series gets..
Indies should be focusing on Wii as much as, if not more so than Sony and MS's consoles. With the huge void left by third parties, there is massive sales potential. And the touch screen gamepad also lends itself to the style of many of these games.
Sure the userbase isn't great, but its sales are remaining steady, and with the release of games like Star Fox and Zelda, the sales will receive massive spikes
Wii U's lineup is definitely picking up this year. Splatoon, Yoshi, Kirby, Star Fox, Xenoblade, Zelda, Devil's Third all coming in 2015, and this doesn't even factor in the eshop stuff.
I care about them to a point, as long as I enjoy getting them. If it reaches a point where it feels like a chore, that's when I pass.
I think it's a stretch to say indies will "save" the Wii U if we're talking sales. But in terms of the library, it's definitly helping to fill a much needed void left by all the third parties that have bailed.
Wii U is begging for an epic Pokemon RPG, maybe even MMO. Between Nintendo finally catching up in the graphics dept, the motion control AND touchscreen support with the gamepad, not to mention free wifi, it seems made for it.
I stopped caring about sales a long time ago. As a gamer and Nintendo fan, it doesn't effect me. I used to think that Nintendo products having great sales would lead to third parties supporting the console more, but Wii showed this clearly isn't the case anyway. So basically, as long as Nintendo provides me with a steady flow of great games, which considering my finances, is currently more than enough with regards to Wii U's lineup, that's all I care about.
Thanks buddy, appreciate that...... XD
