343 has stated that it is part new technology/ art direction, and part fiction.
Take the HUD for example, we learned Cortana rewrote the HUDs systems while he was in cryo for 5+ years. The more you know.

Or it's an author getting 2 points across with a simple statement.
1. He's letting us know he actually owns the console and is not some random fanboy.

Alright I need honest answers. I'm having a tough time breaking into the RPG genre. What games would be good for me to start with. I already played the Mass Effect trilogy, but not in a very RPG like manner. Is dark souls a good start?
But what does the man gain by saying that Gears literally has the worst story in gaming?
I don't care what entertainment medium you are a part of, but showing respect for the competition is always the best course of action. That comment was completely unnecessary. I always hate devs that downplay others. Honestly, what do they gain by it?
I can not wait. Just purchased the original for my iPad. Nostalgia overload, these games are awesome.
The Campaign is completely opposite of what CoD does. MoH campaign is grounded, and much more focused, not the over the top thrill ride of a CoD campaign. The multiplayer on MoH was developed by DICE, so we can disregard that as Danger Close's doing. This time Danger Close is doing it all, so I really can't wait to see how they handle multiplayer.
The lighting and self shadowing look so sexy.

But jumping to conclusions and saying 343 has ruined Halo based on a magazine article is a bit ridiculous. Let's wait a bit, see some real gameplay, hear the next podcast, and possible play it for ourselves before we declare it "ruined."
