You clearly don't understand how this works. They're not saying "Look we can get these dumb ass people to just fund the games we make for us" because EA, Activision and other publishers will see *NO MONEY* from any kickstarter projects. None. Zero. Zilch. Na-da. The developers of the game will see that money, nobody else.
EA and Activision do *NOT* want kickstarter projects to succeed because if they do it will go a long way in proving that the standard publ...
I think this is pretty good... but in my opinion, the original Halo theme is one of the best video game themes ever, and this doesn't even come close.
Say that about Infinity Blade 1 and 2.
Say that about Galaxy on Fire.
Say that about Hero Academy.
Say that about Spaceward Ho.
Say that about Osmos.
Say that about Civilization Revolution.
Say that about Saturday Morning RPG.
Say that about Super Knockout Boxing.
and on and on...

Pull your head out of your ass and realize that there are plenty of great gaming experiences on other platforms,...
Agreed. When he crawled into the box to start pushing out tickets I about lost it. Amazing kid, fantastic imagination.
Not sure why you're getting so many disagrees for being 100% correct. I guess people will even disagree with facts if those facts don't back up their own preconceived ideas.
@Nimblest-Assassin
I don't know what article you read, but nowhere in this article are the words "family", "friendly", or "environment" - let alone any combination of similar words that might be taken to mean the same thing.
As I understand it, the justification for the no booth-babe policy at PAX has always been that it's contrary to the purpose of the show which is to bring attention to and celebrate games, gamers, and gaming culture. Booth-babes are sometimes tasteful and acceptable ways to do that, but are usually little more than a distraction and embarrassment - banning them all outright is a lot easier than picking and choosing which ones are tasteful and acceptable and which ones are not, especially s...
Plenty of people. It may not be a "hardcore" gaming platform, but there are plenty of people who are hardcore gamers that also enjoy mobile games. Your elitist attitude does not make you special, it makes you a jerk.
And to get back on topic, they should have had Hero Academy on the list. Easily the best iOS game I've played and one of the better turn-based strategy games I've ever played.
Yeah. Johnny Lee (he's actually working for Google now, by the way, not MS - his blog: http://procrastineering.blo... ) made the program that Thomas Miller is using in his demo. The article incorrectly gives credit to Miller.
Anyhow, this is cool and all, and *definitely* something I'd like to see the console manufacturers implement. However, I just don't see it happening. I think Sony has an obv...
"damn right" "damn right" "damn right"
I think he uses this phrase too frequently...
@Dova
Yeah, I tend to agree. Still, it hasn't always been there, even in recent games, as this article suggests.
You didn't see it because it's (mostly) a fabrication.
Link's shield has *NOT* always had the bird on it. In fact, it's been absent from most of the shields throughout the Zelda series.

So uhm... you care then?
The day a major corporation like Namco (or Capcom as referenced above, or any other large dev) begins their own kickstarter project is the day I stop purchasing anything that developer *ever* creates.
Small devs who otherwise can't get the funding is fine. Large corporations that have millions of dollars at their fingertips is not.
@server-1
Uhm... where did you get that the designer worked at MS? The person who created the SixthSense tech was a student at MIT. He did not work for MS.
This is hilariously awkward and silly looking. It's also not a new idea.

In particular, look at the images / videos at the bottom of the page. Significantly more impressive and has been around for over 4 years.
They say it's essential if you're in to Mass Effects story, less so if you're just in it for the action.
Tell me... who the hell got in to Mass Effect for the action?
Knowing this contains essential story elements just further pisses me off that it wasn't included with the core game. If it was just a run and gun action sequence I probably wouldn't care as much.
Those are the (increasingly rare) exceptions to what he describes. *Most* Japanese games do exactly what he describes and it's why I also generally ignore them.
Demon's Souls and Dark Souls were both brilliant though.
@jeeves86
Apple already "allows" bluetooth controllers to be paired with the iDevices - but because they don't sell any themselves or bundle them, it's unlikely to gain enough momentum to topple the console market (and arguably wouldn't even if it *were* bundled).
The iPad is great, it's more than enough for the casual gamer or even the serious gamer that has another dedicated gaming console or PC. But is it positioned to be a seriou...
To the developers of this game: this looks decent and all, I will check it out. However, when your promotional video shows somebody attempting the exact same jump over 7 times before finally getting it right, and this is only on the *second level* then there is probably a good chance that SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR LEVEL DESIGN OR CORE JUMPING MECHANICS!!
