What if this isn't the old Cole. Maybe it's the older Cole, Kessler. The best way for this to work, imo, is to give us that Cole for a prequel-esque game to flesh out that alternate universe. Then end it setting us up so that both Coles, not Cole and Kessler, find themselves in the same universe and ready to fight that evil person that killed Kessler's family together in a third game to finish off a trilogy. That way you piss nobody off and you're set up for what would be a pre...
I believer Mr. Greenburg is forgetting one other factor: the wii. There is no other console out there, besides perhaps the ps2 if you choose to count it, with a larger exclusive game library than the wii. A better statement would've have been better quality exclusives, which would have been a matter of opinion, not fact
As the title says. It's not like it doesn't completely not deserve it this year either. With a new Mario, Metroid, and possibly a Zelda coming out this year and the third party party support with No More Heroes 2, Red Steel 2, and some awesome other sword game that's inevitable due to wii motion plus, the Wii definitely has a lineup worthy of its number 1 spot this year. Also, screw natal and the arc, the wii vitality sensor shall rule all

Out of all the games i know of so far, this game probably has the greatest potential to be game of the year this year. Amazing visuals, innovative gameplay, and a talented development team. If Bungie really manages to capitalize on all they've started, just wow. I don't really know what else can stand up to it besides mass effect 2. I suppose peace walker, GT5, and Resistance 3 might have decent chances, but even that seems to be stretching it. It is a good year to be a gamer this year
Games nowadays have to let up. A narrative driven game, such as uncharted 2 or Mass Effect, has to be manageable enough so that a player can actually experience the story, which is a major component of most games nowadays. A game only gets away with being insanely difficult by default if the gameplay is the sole lure of playing the game in the first place, like tetris o demon soul's, since you have no real story that a hard level would get in the way of.
The reason winning in north america is probably so important is that maybe americans on average buy more games than other countries. That's just my guess, but we do have a pretty video game-centric society right now so i don't think i'm too off
Wow... That has got to be the next best thing to l4d2. I wonder why no game company has implemented a 16-player co-op game. I would love to have a game like that, working well, especially l4d3.
Missing Kojima, Epic, Valve, maybe pixeljunk, from, and really just a whole bunch of people. I agree that all the devs listed in the post are noteworthy, i just don't think some of them deserve ALL of the praise they are getting. Oh, and how could anyone forget Miyamoto. Say what you will, but Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, wii sports, wii fit, and zelda are hardly anything to scoff at.
Take that msoft! Looks like sony gets some publicity now!
It only does EVERYTHING!
This might be asking for too much, but since we lost clank, can we have co-op with that dude plz insomniac
I doubt he would ever go multiplat, but if anyone remembers his gdc keynote, nothing is impossible, especially not for hideo kojima
Kojima... Kojima never changes.
