I am a lucky possessor of both PS3 and XBox 360 and I really don't understand why a normal question can create such commotion.
I do prefer playing on PS3 because of some specific game PS3 has but it's a matter of tastes and also because of noise but that's just a silly difference. I'm playing AW and i find it very nice; a good atmosphere nice narrative elements. Much better than some hyped game's story (See FF13).
But I'm curious ... what WRPG are you t...
Problem is that if they don't sell they won't be able to develop again.
I think this review needs really to be adjusted a bit.
First thing first ... this is way more an RPG than Mass Effect 2. The relationship with NPC is more interesting than just having only to make the 2 choices of previous Action RPG. Stealth system works great, you can perform a mission without firing a bullet if you're careful enough. The aim obviously is not perfect because otherwise it wouldn't be an RPG. I mean if you have skills and item for improving aim it's OBVIOU...
I agree that Square-Enix is no longer what Squaresoft was years ago but I think there is another main reason for not remaking FF7. The emotion we felt while playing the game and with each turns of event cannot be the same. If you played FF7 10 or so years ago you know something important happened. Console changed but we did as well. Our way of seeing things changed. It's like the feeling of the first kiss. If you kiss the same person 10 years later it cannot feel the same. I may be a sent...
Well finally the right question. I'm playing RoF and I'm enjoying both story AND characters. They're funny, not yours usual heroes.
The narrative style is strange but I don't wont to spoil somehow.
Nonetheless the story is good(imho), and to tell the truth i left FF13 at chapter 10 to play this game and I actually quite satisfied of my choice. I really find sad that in this console generation the best story are sometimes delivered with RTF instead of RPG and I think that reviewers...
Hi, I enjoyed Final Fantasy saga from 4 to 13 as well as many other RPG and I cannot agree with the score here.
The game has an amazing graphic but 10 if the best you can see and right now Gods of War 3 has better graphics and the fact that it is not an RPG is irrelevant. Sounds is technically excellent but I have to compare to Heavy Rain or Dragon Age which are in my opinion the most "fittable" sound in a game. Gameplay is smooth and I agree with the score and fun factory is ...
I'm at chapter 9 of RoF and i find this review a bit off.
The game story up until now is good.
While it mixes some comic scenes with a gray world, it retains a good atmosphere. What i don't understand of this review is what it is said about the combat system. I think that learning it is quite simple, and using it efficiently is not that hard as well.
Furthermore you can retry a fight if you die (it happened quite a few times for me) and try a different, more approriate appro...
I'm a great fan of JRPG and I think I have some experience since I played really many, from Lufia until Tales of Vesperia (the last game i consider JRPG of this gen).
Yet what makes a JRPG ? I thougt it was the possibility to develop your character within a well designed world with many sub stories and quests, towns to visit and a world to explore. What we have now ? JRPG with farfetched story and characters with low to none charisma. I'm a PS3 fan but right now i'm really disappointed....
I think this guy totally miss the point on RPG.
This writer should at least know what he's talking about. RPG stand for role playing game which means you have to play in that character shoes. This means that the skill you should use is within your brain. So don't write something like
"Losing a fight not because you lack skill as a player but because your characters lacks the necessary skill points isn't fun either".
I keep it simple as you wanted ... go play actio...
What I don't understand about all these comments is the definition of quality ... Is quality just graphics and animations ?
I think these parameters are quite important and
I must admit I'm impressed with Uncharted 2 or KZ2 but in the end what makes them great games ?
GOW are great games because of the storytelling and the pathos.
There are impressive games for both console and right now I enjoy PS3 more, but this is not due to lack of "X - Engine" for XBox ...
To tell the truth I'm not so surprised, but obviously disappointed.
Put aside the XBox 360 - PS3 discussion what we see is another downfall (if it will really be one) of square-enix quality of games.
Let's check last RPG of SE and we see Star Ocean 4: Last Hope, Last Remnants, Infinite Undiscovery.
Do you think these games are top games ? I really hope something better will come out.
This console's generation is disappointing storywise.
The Blu-Ray isn't the reason. If they hacked it they could have used the usb port to read iso from USB-HDD like they did for WII so that's not the issue. I agree nothing is 100% secure but it's useless to continue this discussion.
Who cares for the reasons. This is not a challenge between MS and Sony or PS3 and XBox360. Fact is money goes to Software house, so they have more money to invest and hopefully more quality game in the future. Furthermore if the unhackable status...
