There's different between western RPGs and JRPGs. I havent play this JRPG yet, but its possible to be the best JRPG of last generation.

1. No tutorials; not all people played soul series.
2. No difficulty setting; gamers skills isnt on the same level.
3. The story isnt clear.
4. The game dont tell you why or what your object is.
5. limited weapons/items to purchase.
6. Alot of items' description dont tell you what it does.

To me, Transformers and Tales of Zestiria was as much "hardcore" as bloodborne. To me hardcore means it have great difficulties/rewards balance.
