I don't see any difference at all....
I have and beat Alan Wake. It's a great game in my opinion. The atmosphere is very moving and suspenseful. I loved it personally.
It sold alright, I mean last I checked it sold around 1 million copies. Sure it was in development for like 5 years, but that was because Remedy literally switched the entire direction of the game midway through development (it was first entirely open world), and they only have around 50 something employees.

IGN changed their rating system last year man. It's in .5 increments.

That's true, but there's no feasible way for me to judge a game before playing it. I don't rent games, and I'm not one to really go and pay full price for a game and then see if it's good or not...

The PS3 is more like 6 years old. It released in 2006, but the components and design were already completed for it in 2005.

That's really dumb thinking. Tech improves year by year in an exponential fashion. It's not hard at all to see a PS3 come out, and 6 years down the line, have a portable version. MORE than feasible.
