It isn't that every COD fanboy is an idiot, it's that there are a lot of idiot COD fanboys. There IS a difference.
Great game/series, but a lot of people hate it. I hate it. I don't really like FPS's. Thinking that MW2 is a step-down is definitely your opinion. The 1st MW was too simple compared to MW2. MW2 simply had more content and overall was an advancement to MW and feels like it has a lot more replayability from all of the new content.
San Andreas had everything that the rest of the GTA's didn't have. There was so much freedom. Although GTA4 was my favorite, I felt restricted playing it. A lot of it is about the little things. The map size and scale of SA was great.

GTA4 was my favorite, too. Seems like the people who like GTA4 the most like that it was the most realistic. That's why I liked it the most. The driving was especially awesome.
