This really does look fabulous for a handheld title, to be fair. Ready at Dawn are a seriously talented studio, can't wait to see what they do next after PSP development.
By all accounts it's a pretty short title for an RPG, 12 hours or so?
One thing Eurogamer alluded to in the their review, about frame rate drops and characters talking over each other, really annoys me about the Fable series. Needs some extra spit and polish in some key areas.
The Dark World levels are pretty much making me pull my hair out at this stage. Don't think it's a game I'm going to be able to complete 100%.
Good stuff Bret. Just need to finish the first game and I'll be all over this. That might take a while though...
There's only been a few entries so far so the odds on winning are pretty good!
Maybe with the first game out of the way, the next one will be a little more creative and risky. We can hope.
A pleasure chatting with this guy- his passion for videogames really shone through.
Any Cing fans/haters in the house?
Bret is of course right- the indie scene is where a lot of our hope should lie. It's good to see it flourishing creatively- but I don't know how to bring about such a shift that they become 'mainstream'.
Keats: Halo, powerful ending? I've gotta see this! Also- excellent article, although full of spoilers for those who haven't played RDR.
Would be cool if an update enabled VoIP chat between players. That's hardly likely though is it?
Barry, you mention the game's 'disturbing tone'. What do you mean by that exactly?
Love the presentation in this game. Really well put together. Looking forward to messing around with the level editor too- Move should make this much easier to do.
Never 'got' the whole machinima thing. Was red vs. blue actually any good at all?
I think the shield recharging is one of the biggest gameplay innovations in Halo. Dual-wielding not so much- I don't understand why people seem to think it originated there!
This is a bit of a random comment but does anyone think that a lot of FPS titles really mess up the 'feel' of controlling someone from a first person perspective? In so many titles, I feel like I'm just controlling a roaming camera. Which is of course what you're actually doing. The sensation of having a body is something very few FPS games actually achieve.
I love the concept. Finally, something properly original!
