I tend to agree with him. If you dont want to invest heavily in VR why not partner with someone who is heavily invested in it? You dont incur the RnD costs you would by going it alone.
I dont think its viable with the current hardware that is available. Most people dont have expensive PC's This is a niche market and maybe..just maybe in a few years we will see a VR system for the home that really is a true VR experience.

Though I find the news of this interesting and enlightening, I am not sure VR is going to take off like people think. Realistically I am not sold on spending more money on an add on peripheral that will cost more than my initial investments of these consoles. But, I wonder what E3 will bring in terms of it working on with the X1..guess I have to wait and see.

My thoughts from a consumer perspective is that if its cheap..your experience will be less than stellar. My issue is and I have said it multiple times before...If it's cheap to the point of trying to get the mass consumer market..this will bomb big time. You cannot and for the foreseeable future be able to produce a VR device and get it to market at 199 like some people seem to think. At 199 they will have had to skimp and cut back and leave out features..and if people think they are g...
I am leaning towards a straight up...No. Maybe a 1TB and a 3TB version of the console with nothing changing outside of HDD size.
This will be the first time I have never reserved a CoD game. The last 2 versions seemed to over complicated to the point of me just not wanting to play it. They need to go back to MW or World at War days of gameplay....right now there are too many perks/upgrades/etc to really enjoy the game anymore. I will buy it used to give it a try so if I dont like it, I can return it. I'm not getting burned again.

This will indeed be the first time I have not bothered to reserve CoD. Unless they make it simpler and fun again, I wont bother buying it unless its used so I can return it if I find it crappy. Last two incarnations just plain out stunk. I'll wait for the new Rainbow Six. Its just not CoD anymore :(
I am going to say 1.5m units sold in 1.5 years is very poor...horrible actually.
The X1 doesn't even come close to poor in Japan...its worse than poor.
But, neither company will ever stop selling their systems in Japan.
This has to be the newest handheld they are making..Cant see a console using an open source based OS...They would have to have some sort of protection so pirating would not be rampant.

I've spent ZERO and still enjoy them. I am currently loving Neverwinter as my flavor of the last 2 months. I haven't touched the big box titles since this came out..even the season pass ones I have already paid for...Destiny being the most recent release.
I agree on the sitting back on VR. Right now in order for the consumer to buy..let say Occulus and Morpheus....People want it cheap, for less than 300 dollars for what I see around here and other sites. I'm sorry, but that would definitely be cutting corners big time. Reality right now says its gonna cost you to get what you are expecting out of this device. If people think cheap is gonna work, they are mistaken.
I'll be picking this game up next week :D It will pull me away from Neverwinter.
Please, I think its awesome they can reach in and brick your console for legitimate reasons. It may be your property, but using your property to violate the NDA and the TOS, it can and will be seized, its a crime and like any crime, its a punishable offense... just like if you use your car for a crime....they can and will seize it....aka you can no longer use it....its still your car, but you cant use it.

Each time I see this and I agree with you that over $400, people are going to be pissed. But reality is 2 moves and the ps eye are gonna be 150 bucks add a game and then morpheus...400+ easily.
I am not putting the product down, but realistically if people think that Morpheus is going to be $200 and you are going to be wowed out of your mind and be amazed... at this price, you will be mistaken and rather disappointed.
