I find it hilarious that you can claim the truth when you're an 'outsider looking in'. And from quite a distance, at that. It's very much like a Football fan watching a game between their most hated team and their most loved team. He sees the ref make a call that he didn't like and starts yelling at the TV. I just want to see a developer take more aggressive steps to using DE. A lot of what we've seen has been nothing more than breakable objects place in a static environment. The cover you can take in games like Drakes Fortune, the walls you can shoot through in COD4, the light poles in Warhawk. All are individual objects to increase an illusion. Now I know that ...
The article says "..one of the first killer titles..". Not the first. Not the only. In any case, Warhawk deserves to be considered a killer title. And for those of you who are curious, I do consider Resistance to be the first killer title. Then again, opinions will always vary.
Man, and I thought I was a fan of MGS. Ian makes a lot of really good points about MGS in general. I wasn't able to get through MGS3 completely thanks to some personal preferences (I NEED MY ADVANCED RADAR) But I've enjoyed everyone other MGS game I've played. That includes MGS1, MGS2, MG Acid 1 and 2 as well as MG Portable Ops. MGS4 looks like it'll be the bomb and I can't wait to see all the little hidden things that can be done to 'break the fourth wall'.
