I played 1 and 2 back-to-back a couple of years ago for the first time. Fallout 1 was good but it was so weirdly content-barren. You had this huge map with almost nothing to see. 2 delivered a ton more content, characters, world-building, and more, despite being made within a year after 1, I think? But you are right, Fallout 1 has a distinctly different tone compared to the rest of the franchise. The combat... didn't age well in both of these games, but I think they are still worth trying...
Arkham Knight is definitely a great game. The twist itself is pretty bad but it's a pretty small part of the entire story. Similarly with FFXV, like, the twist just... doesn't have ANY bearing over the rest of the game. Some other games I would even argue for, I heavily dislike the twist of The Vanihish of Ethan Carter, but the game is still worth playing despite being so story-driven.
@OtterX I genuinely believe that Little Hope is one of the worst games to have the "it was all a dream" ending because the goal of the game is to keep as many characters alive till the end of the story. And it's such a shitty feeling to not be rewarded anything for that, like a specific ending or additional dialogues.
Belive you me, you are only missing out on serious disappointment... deepened only by the fact that the game makes a seriously good first impression!
A system like this is an awesome addition to open-world games for sure, and it helps the player create their own stories. But let's not make this stealth, parkour, or for that matter open-worlds in general. You cannot just slap any system you want on top of your existing game, rather you have to build a game around your systems. Shadow of War was clearly built around that system, and it's fucking great! God of War? I just don't see it personally.
I'm more so saying that creators shouldn't explain certain things in their work, because they are the only people who know for sure. If I, you, or some youtube come up with an interpretation, and then spread that interpretation to others, that's perfectly fine. It creates discussion, theories, and collaborative speculation. If the creator says "yeah that guy symbolizes this, this and that", then the mystery is gone.
And if no one can figure out what s...
Which is completely not the point of my comment, btw. Because it's not about the snow/ash, it's about the creators talking about their works.
I think explaining things in your video game, movie, or book, that are not technical or related to certain challenges with the process is a thing you should never do. My man just extinguished 22 years of speculation in a once sentence, and for what?
A lot of people probably thought it's ash because it kinda makes more sense plot and setting-wise. While others just assumed it was snow. Those ideas could have coexisted before, but now they cannot. This is a minute detail ...
Emulation is great, but at the same time quite a hassle. I frequently had just... bizarre issues with different emulators. That's why I would love to give a reasonable amount of money for official ports of games I'm interested in re-released on modern hardware. Unfortunately, that is not in the cards for most of those titles.
A lot of game preservation shenanigans lately in general it feels. I mean, we just had this Ubisoft fiasco.
It's pretty uninspired and boring. The world looks inviting and colorful but there's literally nothing to do. Some of the stories and majority of characters are fucking fantastic. But the combat is just... it's the most generic thing in existence, fought against the most braindead AI ever.
It's such a glaring disconnect when you go from those beautifully animated, expertly voiced "cutscenes" with one of your favorite characters right into the fuck...
The gaming industry and community have grown by a large margin too. On a smaller scale even, Sony also generated a ton of hype in gaming and non-gaming communities during the PS4 era into the current one. This will probably be their biggest game, but chances are their next product will do even better.
It's truly crazy how much the industry grew in the last decade.
The author of this article presented Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto V as games with better replay value than Elden Ring. And while they are both great games on their own, what was he smoking?
GTA V and RDR2 have NOROURIOSLY shitty first 3-5 hours before you unlock the majority of the game's features and the game stops holding your hand at every turn. Making the act of replaying those games so brain-dead boring that it hurts.
Meanwhile, in...
@BLITZ_GAMER That's literally what I said? "Not saying this will be the case with Forspoken ofc." Because we won't know before that game releases. Purely statistically speaking it's most likely having a troubled development like most games with significant delays.
Delays almost never result in a better product. More often than not they actually point to troubled development. Not saying this will be the case with Forspoken ofc.
"A couple of bad actors in the community did the bad thing, time to demonize the entire male "gamer" demographic! Epic journalist style!"
Seriously, this is just getting tiring.
Probably not as cost-efficient as the Steam Deck. Probably will not be as successful as the Steam Deck. But it's still very exciting to see new hardware pushing the limit of what you can play on the move
SMT IV, Apo, and Strange Journey are extra infuriating because they are exclusive to a console that is literally discontinued. At that point, any exclusivity deals should go out the window. Atlus should definitely touch them up and release them on PC and consoles.
As they should. Some of the assets they made seen in their trailers are truly bonkers.
It only ever depends on execution.
Witcher 3 and Persona 5 are 100h-ish games that don't get too boring during their main story, nor do they ever artificially block you from engaging with it. I don't consider them too long at all.
The latest Assassin's Creed trilogy (Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla) are 40-60 hours games that force you to grind XP at some point in your journey if you focus too much on the main story. This gets annoying, especi...
