Remember when AC: Black Flag had frame issues? Now it's a game you can play on a decent laptop. This is just Ubi rushing out games to meet the street date, they'll optimize this soon enough. Just be patience and wait for the patches. AC is one of their main franchises and there's no way they're letting this one stand.
Good thing it only took them a year to fix this on this on a console this is focused on "social gaming".
I'm playing this on my new 980 GTX. No performance issues at 1440p 40-60 FPS all day :) It might be a bit ambitious on Ubi's part to squeeze this game on to the consoles but damn, if you have to hardware to handle it the graphics and scale doesn't disappoint.
I got this game for free with my 980 GTX and in some ways, it totally justified the purchase of a $600 video card. The texture quality is simply amazing considering the massive NPC density. This isn't like the AC of the past where towns would have 10-30 npcs on screen at once. There could be 50 to a hundred viewable npcs on the map and the feel being in a historical city is astounding.
The good news: 1440p @ 60fps all day.
The bad news: one 980 GTX isn't enoug...
Finally a game epic enough to be worthy of the nextgen badge. I can't believe I had to trudge through all the disappointments and mediocrity to get to this point.
This is the true nextgen game we're all waiting for and this vid does a piss poor job at highlighting the difference.
Nvidia cards are selling like hotcakes and the profit margins on those are freaking huge.
AMD is struggling, and just like Nvidia learned from the last gen, being tied to the console offer no tangible benefits with the profits being so marginal.
Right now their biggest problem is they have no real answer for the 970 GTX and that's going to be a killer.
Steam is great. I love Steam. But I don't like Steam enough to shun Origin or Uplay. While they are the most innovative and feature rich service of the three, it is the competition that drives Steam.
Don't let this slow down internet. You can still over react, because maybe it's a mistake that they put it back.
Wow. Just WOW. This game with OC Rift will be freaking amazing. A game changer.
The Steam fanboys are out in force. Nevermind the fact that you still needed Uplay to play Farcry 3. Now that you can't buy from Steam, all you need is Uplay. It cuts out the middle man. Why is that such a bad deal?
This is the only real impact of the removal. Prior to this, even if you bought the game from Steam you still need to sign into Uplay to play the game.
Same. I just wish they would eliminate the constant and annoying mission pop ups.
I never thought I would say this. But I can't wait to try the multiplayer. The 4 player dungeon crawl sounds awesome.
Yup. After the let downs of Second Son, Sleeping Dogs and the epic fail that is Destiny. We could be looking at a legitimate next generation game. Bioware is making up for DA2 in a big way.
Let it die? The Vita died at birth and they has been trying to breath some life into it since then.
Damn she's hot...but it's a podcast. :(
This is the best HD port of this generation. Everything else simply wasn't trying.
All of this hate is way out of hand. Yeah the game is unoptimized, but most AC games have frame issues at launch. On the PC at least, this will eventually be fixed. See Black Flag.
At this point I'm willing to look pass the frame and pop ins because Unity present a unrivaled visual and audio fidelity of an open world environment. Nobody, and this includes Rock Star, has ever produce a living city that is this dense and this alive with NPCs. Best open world, ever.
