Actually Square Enix is doing incredible now that they own Eidos. You base your opinion on the idea that their in house games aren't to your liking. They haven't "failed" in the smallest way in the last 5 years. Their stock is up, their sales are up, and they are one of few Japanese developers that are getting the degree of published games out that American Publishers like EA and Activision. Square doesn't even need Final Fantasy anymore - they treat it as a traditio...

On the upside I have a feeling that Ninja Theory will make a game that is extremely well paced and fun to play - with a great storyline and cast of characters.

On the downside DMC was great because of its fast action hack/slash gameplay mixed with stylish combos and larger-than-life weapons. This new direction seems to be eliminating that idea - which means they're removing the DMC from Devil May Cry...

Hey Chrono you want to word that so it doesn't seem like you just said:

In this generation alone Sony has sold 80,000 console units - which is more than Nintendo and Microsoft.

Because if read like that you'd be saying that Sony outsold MS and Nintendo in console sales because they sold 80,000 units... Which would be the single biggest typo in gaming history I think.

I'd love to have that clarified. At this point in time t...

You're right - It isn't news, its gold.

This is great, I'm lost on why this isn't considered news in a world of games, aren't games just for fun - this news article is a "for fun" parody and I wish I thought of it first.

So you think that Microsoft created the pay to play idea? You think that they came up with DLC? and you think they it was them who decided to market something that may have been "on disc" as DLC?

And in that comparison for some odd reason to speak of PS3? Are you serious? Do you know nothing about marketing?

It is up to the developer on what they release and HOW they release it. Capcom went to Microsoft mainly because Dead Rising was a bett...

I'm at a loss here, this article is saying that free games on PS3 is boring? Perhaps that statement in it self is purely fanboyism I don't know but free anything is a great thing not a boring thing. In the future they will adapt to increase its performance. I'm sure someone is already working on stealth mods and all that ridiculous piracy stuff - I dunno I enjoy buying things.

But seriously this is a really weak attempt at seeming like you're not really e...

SOme one want to link me to where it said that Sony is dominating the console and gaming world? I just want to see the total sales of games and whatnot as I am always confused when people cry "My console has da mostest sales!!" I could careless about either company as I don't work for MS or Sony nor do they pay my bills but I just want to see some hard numbers on the matter. Forget the fanboy debating.

This Article is such BS...

The name was coined by Hironobu Sakaguchi- you know the guy that SINGLE HANDEDLY CREATED/DESIGNED FINAL FANTASY??

He thought it would be a fitting title for their last game as it would be if it didn't sell well.

This was the story as told by every single member of Square up until he left them because they were upset at his FF:Spirits Within fubar...

For these guys to sit back and blatant...

Yet at the same time someone could call running around trying to get out of a castle with a little girl or trying to resurrect your girlfriend by killing random creatures just as meaningless.

Art is in the eye of the beholder, While I'm with you in terms of "We need more of these" not everyone wants to play games that try so hard.

The idea here is simple:

Mix classic Megaman, Little Big Planet, and Other Capcom Universe character powers in a blender. Throw in a hint of Kirby power stealing and boom - Megaman Universe.

Supposedly you can create levels and share them with friends. Also you can gain powers like Ryu's fireball/dragon punch and Rad Spencer's bionic arm (Bionic Commando).

I was hoping for Megaman Legends 3 or something but I'll keep holdi...

It looks incredible but the problem with that in my opinion is why exactly does that matter at all?

Killzone 2 wasn't exactly the best FPS and while I'm sure Sony's budget is capable of making a great FPS I've yet to see it done. Are we losing ourselves in the graphics to make up for the idea that the FPS genre no longer needs innovation, gameplay, story, or level design? I may be opening myself up to petty disagrees but I'd love to know where everyone...

You're so very right in your opinion of the studio issue.

Sony buys studios just for the exclusives but MS only buys exclusive rights that usually run out. The strategy is very flawed.

Microsoft isn't trying to create many exlcusives because they want to keep a strong arm on the Multiplatform titles. They usually do well selling those titles on their system - especially the big sellers like CoD and what have you.

It would make...

I agree as well. It was by far the longest and one of the most engaging FPS I've ever played.

I have to say the way that Fable III was discussed is the exact reason I enjoyed part 2. I rolled a male character and got bored but as soon as my little brother started his game as a female the game suddenly became more compelling to play.

I cannot wait to see what Vanquish is all about - I'm definitely with you with the MK/VQ

Why would that be a problem or have anything to do with an event that shows off games to the public?

Perhaps you're not aware of this but most gamers play multiplatform games.

You may also not be aware but the idea of Microsoft showing off "Multiplats" as you put it is a strong way to not only help create a buzz for the publisher but create a standard platform to play them on. While the idea that multiplatform games are for "all" ...

I haven't loved a Sonic game since I was 11 years old. I'm hoping this not only resurrects the series but teaches SONIC Team the lesson I've been teaching my friends for years - Sonic doesn't work as a primarily 3D/3rd Person game.

That's mainly due to their cultural fad vs. history.

The changes that hit most Japanese gaming franchises either make or break the relevancy of that product. Resident Evil changed dramatically with 4 and took out most of the Survival Horror game play for action. That culminated with 5 and many people hated 5 while clinging to the idea that 4 was the best in the series. Survival Horror fans lashed out at 4 for not being like 1 through Code Veronica.

I agree to a degree. It's ironic that with all the tech no western developer can create good hair on female characters its always stiff and short meanwhile the Japanese excel at it. I've always found it funny that the Japanese art styles for games are far more vivid as well. It would be nice to see developers learn from each other instead of crying foul in terms of advancement.
