I am curious why and how this "spinoff" came out before the actual game it was based off of. Regardless, it has a fun art style and is one I want to check out.
I wish the Neverhood were released for GOG or something because it's hard to get running on modern computers. It would nice to have a digital re-release announcement alongside this new game.
I'm glad that they didn't outright cancel the PC version even after all this time. Too bad it's not going to be out until Q3 of this year...
Ha, LOGIC on N4G?
Seriously though, nice post.
They're almost about to make enough to get to the second DLC character! They have definitely done well enough to keep people interested in donating :).
You bring up an interesting point. If we suddenly saw a string of games with Peach saving Mario over and over, yes, that would be sexist. Sexism goes both ways, after all. However, even though there ARE sexist depictions of men in games, male gamers do not speak up against it. Mostly I think it's because gaming is not Peach vs Female Bowser but a boat load of male power fantasies. Why should a man be concerned about being treated powerfully?
There are feminists who discus...
Considering there are at least 10 more videos in Anita's series to go, she is probably going to speak about Samus and Lara Croft at some point. Since they are such massive names, how could she not? However, I do expect the focus will be on the vast changing of Samus' character for Other M and then the original Tomb Raider games (focusing on the marketing).
The thing is though that over the span of gaming as a whole, women protagonists are there in much smaller quanti...
It is as much as a "Feminist Agenda Day" as "Gay Agenda Day". Neither of these "agendas" are real being my point. Feminists speak up every day but it is only in the past few years that it has been deemed allowable in gaming circles. IE: Destructoid posting about Tropes VS Women whereas it would not have been shown on the site back when it started.
If you do not want to listen to it, then don't. If you watch and read "feminist agenda"...
Lol, who complains it's just a PC? All video game systems could be considered "computers", only now that the technology is converging more obviously that we can make easier comparisons. People will certainly build PCs based off the specs of this system for a cheaper price, but that won't stop everyone from purchasing a new game console. Some people just prefer consoles.
Beyond being interesting to see what developers like, this is just a great list of video games that everyone should play!
Funnily enough, they had at least two betas but they were by invitation and capped at a certain amount. Why oh why have a beta if you're not even going to give it a shot with everyone to see if your game servers can withstand it?
Yeah, you just have to get accustomed to the flow of turns. It doesn't seem like it would be hard to have just added an indicator into the UI though.
Sitting down Christmas day to open Duke Nukem Forever would be pretty nightmarish. It definitely seems like you've got your work cut out for you with this haul of titles. Although Left 4 Dead 2 is pretty old now, it's still a blast with friends.
On no this is going to get a lot of negative comments around here. Just remember folks, just because one site or person says something about your favorite developer doesn't in any way detract from your own enjoyment of them.
I personally think Lionhead is really good at getting me too excited for their products. Totally ignoring Fable, I got so hyped up for The Movies years ago to find it ended up being surprisingly lackluster. I've heard similar about the older Fable...
Man, Uncharted 3 looks unbelievable. I'm surprised that these consoles still are able to surprise and impress us graphically after, what, 6 or 7 years? It reminds me of when Metal Gear Solid 3 came out on PS2 and it looked sooooo nice.
Back in the day I'd be ready to say that PC was the most powerful gaming platform out there. I mean, it was getting polygonal and "3D" games before the consoles were able to handle it, but these days it is a much closer race.
In this current age I think consoles are pretty close to PC games and unfortunately a lot of PC gamers are now stuck with console ports! I think it's fine for someone to prefer a PC or 360 or PS3 but there's no reason to go shoving ...
Haha, xPhearR3dx, that's an awesome description for CJ in San Andreas. GTA: SA was also my favorite game because it transcended stereotypes a ton and told an interesting story. That along with the California/Nevada locales were really fun too.
I know people have put up strong rumors saying GTAV will be in LA but I want it to be all of San Andreas again. I mean, why limit yourself? San Andreas had an LA area and then lots more. It'd be great fun to see Las Venturas again, too.
You know, I never even thought of him in the context of fighting. I just think of him when listing off names of Sony-exclusive characters, you know?
But you're very right that in fact he's mostly an everyday guy without any powers or skills. Well, he can climb really well but I don't think that would aid him much in a fighting game, haha.
It's so weird to recall these games coming out like they just did, but nope, it's been years ago!
