In terms of power and long life cycle Yes!software and hardware's quality is the same. maybe is too expensive for the mass.but don't forget that ps3 has a BR player, wifi connection and 80giga HHD built in.Ps2 is still the King.But I'm confident that after a price cut Ps3 will have same numbers.
ps3 rendering is better and has more polished visual than xbox360.ps3 Shadows and HDR are more realistic too.in this video Xbox360 have a little drop in framerate and pop-in objects.maybe Crytek needs more work to do with cryengine3 for xbox360
