Downloadable content does not mean "additional episodes" - every other game out there has downloadable content but not every game has "new episodes". Soooo.... keep on wating, you should be used to it by now :)
What do you think the 360 team was doing while they were waiting for the ps3 team to catch up ?? That's right they allready started on the 360 exclusive content :)
Sony knows that they are having a problem with game development and this sounds more like damage control on their part more then anything. They are just trying to keep up and not get left behind by the 360.
I think that they underestimated MS and it's ingenious forethought to provide developers with what "they" wanted - see Epics involvement in the 360 hardware as they were working on gears for MS.
Good move none the less and it will benefit to all the develope...
...and the psfanboys are avoiding this story since they are running out of ammo after being slammed yet again.

You guys are so naive to think that sony is going to break their back for you "just" because you want something that the other system had from day one for the last 2 1/2 years. As much as sony touted the trojan horse BR drive they sure omitted the stuff that really matters.
To all the stupid psfanboys that still have the audacity to talk shiat about the 360 or it's line up - how many more games that get canned (frontlines), delayed(many multiplat. titles) or outright the developers refuse to make (valve)does it take before you admit that 2008 belongs to XBOX 360 ??

And what was the alternative to a PS 2 back then ??
These days there is a console that is easier to develop for, games look and play better on it, sells the most games and basically prints money if you make a game for it.

I don't think that MS has shown all it's cards yet for this year and it's nice to know that they are concentrating on the near future unlike sony, that has a tendency of overpromising and underdelivering lately - how long have you been promised those "oh -so big" 3 titles that are hopefully coming out this year ? BTW MGS 4 will be a costly mistake IMO.
It might be just a matter of personal preference but I like MS approach a lot better then sony's.

This is why XBOX Live is so great but some people just don't understand.
So far every Unreal powered game runs and looks better on the 360 which btw Epic is very familiar with. What makes you think it will be different this time around ??
Gears 2 on 360 will raise the bar again. There's going to be a lot of ps fanboys green with envy comes november :)
Glad to know the 360 is the preferred platform for Unreal Engine development as demonstrated in this demo :)
Now watch Epic stretch their muscle and blow everything out of the water when gears 2 is released - they did it before and they shall do it again :)
I think that gears might be on the way to become the "Halo" of this generation.

You are wrong about the storage limitations - hard drive required for the dlc and all the assests are allready on the disc that you own, so creating a whole new city / area withing copule gigs of DLC won't be a problem at all.
