It's supposedly going to be free, not f2p with microtransactions.
As long as you can climb stuff and not get trapped by curb, it will be fine. If I remember correctly, Mafia 1/2 didn't have jumping either.
It's 'Frictional', not 'Friction'.

I believe they even recently switched to Unreal Engine 4, the production should be in full swing.
Don't forget Ground Branch, it looks promising.
GOATY?
You do realize this is just a prediction, right?
Hunger Games was pretty much about kids killing kids, and it got PG-13. Why are games treated differently than movies?
But killing adults is entertaining?
If I may say, we have Frictional to thank for this sort of games. I guess the sales of Penumbra and Amnesia showed that players want proper, first person horror game once in a while.
"...a child soldier transformed into a half-human, half-cyborg ninja..."
Well, that makes him 3/4 human and 1/4 robot, right?
It's FTL, not FLT. Just saying.
It just wasn't scary enough. The story was fine, but everyone expected a truly scary game. Monsters looked like reskinned versions of Dark Descent's. There was even the invisible pig in the water (they didn't even need new model or texture for that one). Also, lack of health bar, inventory and enjoyable puzzles didn't help either.
I hoped that they will change game engine for their next game, but it seems that SOMA is still using HPL. It is so painfully unopti...
Well, I blame gamers. If gamers didn't buy DLCs, then publishers wouldn't force developers to make them. Anyone remember the good old days when you could make custom maps for your game, and not be forced to buy new ones as DLC? If only expansion packs came back...
Shhhh... Don't give them any ideas :)
Yet another whatculture.com article with some numbers in the title.
Non-horror games. Read the title.
True. There have been quite a few horror titles announced recently, including Lunar Software's Routine. This could be due to Amnesia's commercial success, and I am happy that we will get more first person games that are truly scary.
Far Cry 3 side missions were boring and repetitive, and climbing radio towers was just plain annoying. Also, seeing enemy outlines through solid objects should have been optional. As for the character stereotypes and ridiculous story, it gave the game a certain charm, and judging by the Far Cry 4 cover, Ubisoft is going to stick with that.
