No, 99.9% of games still fit on a DVD. Just because 0.1% don't, doesn't make blu-ray a necessity.
The 360 isn't the only system with this limitation. The game is being released on the MAC and PC platforms too and MAC's don't come with blu-ray and most PC's don't come with blu-ray so they are going to get the exact same crappy quality game as the 360. I'll be giving this one a miss anyway. There are other games that look better than this one that don't require blu-ray.
Did you happen to read the rumored update list floating around the interwebs. Those are the updates we need. We only get 2 updates a year. If the xbox was perfect we wouldn't need them .... but you know ... it's not!
Meh, not really interested in seeing previews anymore. They killed the excitement by delaying it so much.
Can't wait for announcement that KillZone 2 will be running at 480p or Little Big Planet and Home being delayed again to "improve quality". What a crappy console.
Good stuff, but ... learning from Sony's previous release schedules it's more like early 2009 and mid 2010.
A victory is a victory. You must own a PS3. Go watch a movie while i play some games.
Didn't the NPD data show that the Xbox outsold the PS3? Maybe you're just pissed off that Sony keeps promising all these great games but are failing to deliver, delayed much, or you're just pissed off that you bought a games console but got a blu-ray player. The only reason they 'sell' any PS3's is because they have to give them away with their TV's.
Most people with common sense register their product with the manufacturer.
The first thing i did when i got my 360 was register it online with Microsoft. When it did RROD i didn't need the receipt because i registered it with them and the person on the support line was much more helpful because they already had all my details.
Until it all gets delayed.
You could say the same about killzone 2. It's nothing really special. Looks better but thats about it.
Ummm ... so he's being racist towards white people?? People are just being silly. Get over it.
Delaying it wont make it perfect. Delaying it will only piss people off. It's a piece of software, there will ALWAYS be bugs.
Now the people who wanted HDMI can get HDMI :) I'm getting my second 360 :P
Cheap way to get into hd dvd and best of all i can watch it on my 360 and pc :)
Our EB Games opened did the midnight, apparently they were open for about 30mins. Most people wont get one because its too expensive. I want one but i dont have a $1000.
You can still play online for free. It's only if you want to play cross platform that you'll have to pay.
HD-DVD: N0 1080p, No HDMI, Less compacity as blu ray. WHAT???
First, you need to learn to spell. Second, 1080p is useless right now and HD-DVD video can be encoded to 1080p just like blu-ray. The 1080p limitation lies with the player not the format. When the time comes the HD-DVD player will support 1080p. Last, HD-DVD will support HDMI because it will be a requirement of HDCP. The only difference is the capacity.
I'm on $45k p/a at the moment and after tax, mortgage, car payments, internet, phone, food and fuel then there's hardly anything left. Then there's the electricity (which i just got a notice is going up), council rates, car registration ... you get it. Everything is expensive here in Aus and our "big" salaries don't last.
