yeah it sucks that the hardware has issues, but im glad its finally getting sorted
ive had no problems with my console it doesnt get hot and seems to play fine (touch wood) but im kinda happy to know i can get it fixed for free, if i ever get a refurbished console ill be pissed though and ill be demanding a new one, i actually think its illegal for them to give refurbished consoles in my country but ill have to look into that

the main character looks like tommy, and the game starts with a big bang just like prey but soon gets dull
graphic style and environments are similar to prey, i know prey is on a ship but the characters and the human levels look similar style
i finished prey and enjoyed it but it felt verry cheep, i would have never gone all the way with that game if it hadent been for the achievements, and its kinda the same feeling for me with the darkness

i dont really understand the overheating problem, i allways feel the back of the xbox after playing it,and its never any warmer then the ps3
i only play for an hour or so at a time, but theres been the verry rare six or so hours playing if ive got friends round, but still its never gotten all that warm

there was deals here in NZ that if you bought a ps3 you got free hdmi cables, but it just comes down to the fact that if its a high def device it should have its own cables out of the box
i would just factor that into the price when i get one, because if im takeing it home to meet my samsung LCD i want it to be able to play nice on it!

i had to replace my ps1 three times and constantly play it on its side or in its dyeing days fully upside down, my ps2 two times and i got a third ps2 but a slimline and the laser blew in a month and had to get repairs doen
also my ps2's scratched my discs up and left cloudy marks on them, so no console is without its issues

yep had mine 13 mths and only ever got hot once because i left it in a closed glass cabnet duh, never did that again
never had a failure and it doesnt get any warmer then the ps3 when its left in an open ventilated space so im not worried, its true to a degree that alot of people have failures because they dont give the console air, but for the people that have bought faulty launch consoles it sucks and i understand why alot of people are angry with MS

i pick my game and before i even play it i look at the achievements, pick a few out that seem easy and aim to get them just by playing the game
then if i miss any that sound fun i give the game a second run and try to get what i missed
