@iChaos : oh thanks, that's much clearer now. /sarcasm
The problem is, that's not me who wrote the article, it's this analyst.
Why not calling HIM instead ?
@jmare : yeah, shoot the messenger, it will certainly improve MS results. You care enough to come here protesting. It's not my fault if analysts think MS results are bad.
UPDATE : MSFT share is now losing as much as 10 % due to the bad results...
Sony has a much better outlook than MS has with the 360 since it's about to cut the PS3 price and it has a lot of margin to do so (it's still 400$ after all), while cutting the 360 price would do no good since it's already basically free.
What I mean is everybody who wanted the 360 already has one since its price already reached the 199$ 'sweet spot', while a lot of people are waiting to buy a PS3 as soon as its price reached this sweet spot too.
Microsoft should rename to MicroFail or FailSoft.
They seem to fail in everything they try right now.
HDDVD cup handler, Zune, yahoo bid, Xbox 1, RROD, Windows Vista...
It's an impressive streak of failures they've got now.

@Immortal : Actually, recession is not a good excuse, like this analyst stated :

As he said, many tech companies did well, just not Microsoft.
He says MS is now irrelevant, nobody cares about this company anymore. I agree with him.
Feel free to read his analysis.

That, plus PS3 slim ...
As you can see in the picture, MS revenue decreased sharply in every part of their business...
Things look grim for them right now.
I think they'll continue to cut jobs and close studios, since the entertainement division is one of worst money sinks for them.
Analysts commented those numbers by saying they were the worst in MS history.
I guess Ms fanboys know economics better. Er, wait...
It's quite entertaining to see MS fanboys rejoice when MS actually just posted the worst result in its whole history.
Real MS numbers are :
- MS revenue decreased 30 %
- MS entertainement division lost 130 million $ this quarter
Those are very bad numbers. There's no way to spin it.
MS could have to cut more jobs and close more studios if Entertainment Division continues to bleed
money like that.
MSFT share is losin...
