How is that an excuse? If i walk into a shop today, i can't actually buy a ps3 because they are OUT OF STOCK. You know sony cut off shipments in preparation of the slim. So how is that 'an excuse' or 'spin' when its the truth. The slim launches on sept 1st. Guess what? People are going to wait.

No its not a fair point. Sony didn't lose those thing just for a laugh. If they were still it the ps3 you wouldn't be paying $299 for it right now. Everyone was begging for a price cut so sony had to sacrifice those components to meet the price required. If you wanted those features you should have coughed up the money before.
The point is not the losing of features though. Its the BS excuse ms have used. Sony may have dropped some features but they haven't come up with BS like...

You're aware 360 had a year headstart? Well to put it simply...take away that headstart, and ps3 has sold more! PS3 since launch has been outperforming 360 in sales.
The only reason 360 has been selling slightly more recently is because ms was pissing their pants about the more expensive ps3 outselling their 360. So they had to cut their cheaper consoles price and make it even cheaper. Desperation. And ps3 is still keeping up with it. Enter ps3 slim, and 360 is going to be sell...

FACTS:
2007 - PS3 outsold 360
2008 - For 3/4 of the year, ps3 outsold 360 by a lot. So ms had to drastically cut 360's price. PS3 and 360 sold the same in 2008
2009 - So far again ps3 is selling essentially just as well as 360. But now there's a price cut and ps3 slim.
And ps3 outsold 360 while always being more expensive....
