I don't see why the review or the score should be split. Multiplayer is just as much a part of the game (just like the singleplayer). It's what makes a game whole. Of course, some games have terrible singleplayer but excellent multiplayer, but the game should be scored in its entirety. Both elements should be addressed in the text and in the final score.
There's a huge difference between choosing to be online (but you can gladly continue playing if your internet connection drops) or having it forced upon you and being booted out of a game, because of "always-online" DRM.
The two aren't the same.
Same for me as well. I have a 2Mbps connection, but it's as unreliable as they come.
While both games can be considered as "scrapping the bottom of the barrel", I think Aliens: Colonial Marines has done the most harm to the broader Aliens franchise, and the reputations of both Gearbox and Sega. Also, unlike Activision's Walking Dead game, what was promised, or what was initially showcased didn't actually exist. I consider that a greater evil - i.e. blatantly lying to customers.
Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, on the other hand, could easily...
61/100? For Terraria? One of the most interesting little* sandbox titles to have been released in the last few years? I think not sir...
*not quite that little... :P
As I wrote on youtube: "This was very lame. Reckless Tortuga did something similar a few years ago, and they nailed it. Why? Because at the time, it was relevant. Now the jokes just fall flat. You know what would have been funny? Sh_t PC gamer Fanboys say.
It's relevant because of the next-gen looming, and because there's a lot of soul-searching and overcompensation. But this? so 2008. Very lame Grant..."
I'm trying to figure out why this "article" was even approved. It's barely a few paragraphs long and it's one of those throw away posts about a tweet.
It's interesting that IGN would take a muted tone to the PS3 finally overtaking the Xbox 360, and even trying to downplay it as being somehow unimportant. It's even more interesting given how blatantly anti-PS3 they've been in the past. I'm mostly a PC gamer, but I can understand where PS3 gamers are coming from.
I have to agree with V.A.T.S being redundant. If there's anything to be learnt from Borderlands and Borderlands 2, it's that you can actually have first-person shooter taking a page out of a role-playing game. More importantly, you can actually create a role-playing game out of first-person shooter mechanics.
Valve has already positioned themselves (rather adeptly) as a major player in PC gaming - and as a distribution channel. It seems almost natural that they'd want to focus their attention on hardware as well. From a strictly gamer perspective, I'm kind of excited to see the Steambox in action and will love to own one.
That is the problem with sensationalism, and the hunt for hits. The real tragedy is ultimately that the truth finds itself lost in a sea of drama. I personally haven't taken Kotaku seriously in years.
I think Black Friday in the US was interesting with the xbox flexing it's muscles, but overall in terms of global sales, the PS3 is actually on top.
I'm just amazed that apparently I live in a third-world warzone, rather than a leafy suburb in Cape Town.
Not entirely. You'd have a point if all their games were priced similarly to GTAV. In truth, they're not.
Games usually cost between $40 and $50 in South Africa. Therefore, this is definitely a huge markup, (rather than a function of exchange rates).

I'm going to take lazygamer off my bookmark list. Troll reviews for hits.
I enjoyed your review. Thank you
That might be it, or he's clueless.
I personally think this reviewer is full of crap.
If you like openworld role players then you'll have fun with Amalur. I like what the reviewer said about the beginning, because when I played the demo I also thought this game wasn't going to be good. Then I bought it, played it and enjoyed it.
PS4 for me (Ex-Xbox 360 girl gamer now PS4 and PC girl gamer)
