In the end game companies should cater to gamers. People who buy into the hype of an item like the Wii or Kinect aren't always real long term customers a lot of them just buy whatever is "hot" at the moment. BTW I'm not insulting the Wii or Kinect I'm just saying a lot of people bought them who have never owned a gaming system in their life and probably won't ever again after they are done w/ them. In all reality they seem more dedicated to investing $$$ into Kinect than anything else. Apps and XBL services would be 2nd and 1st party games/devs would come somewhere after that. Hopefully this changes next generation.

Just because Bethesda had problems w/ FINISHING Skyrim (which works perfectly now BTW) for the PS3 doesn't mean the system has problems w/ open world games or any games for that matter. More RAM would be great obviously, but seeing the games it still cranking out (TLOU and GOW) I don't think the PS3 has any problems that you would need to worry about.

Remember this. Software is where these companies make most of their money. People usually buy 1-2 consoles and dozen and dozens of games. One day consoles will probably be free w/ a contract (2-5yrs) to the online subscription (just like the 360 and cell phones). They will be required to be online to play and will be disconnected from the network for non-payment. Like I said software is where they make their money, could you imagine if they had 500 million in the wild how much they would make...
