I don’t think they thought the arcade genre was dead but were indicating they needed to change strategies because they wanted to bring a bigger profit to their games to pay for their amazing production quality. The studio has grown and Returnal shows that they had blended their arcade roots with a AAA experience

The numbers of course are skewed because of Japanese enthusiasm towards Xbox. However, it is telling the Series S is what is grabbing attention. A great entry into Game Pass, -a cheaper, smaller console that gives Japanese gamers a more solid experience than the Switch. No new Final Fantasy on Xbox prolly hurts but MS is showing solid investment in Japanese games coming to the console and game pass. This is good news for Xbox but nothing that changes the homeland of either Nintendo or Sony....
GamePass leveraged with media collaborations seems like a smart move. I would not have bought this game, but with the movie out it will be a nice fun weekend of Space Jamming.
Great cause there has been no new Elder Scrolls for a generation and Fallout 76 launched like a pile of garbage, but has a great expansion coming NEXT year. Glad MS is spending money on video games. Let’s go.

Good for Infinity Ward and Activision. Looking at this unbiased, it’s good that 3rd parties will push hardware and will release it when it’s ready and not play favorites. It’s just better for gamers. I am sure they will do the same for PlayStation if patches are ready. If not I am happy to play, on PlayStation with whatever optimized version I prefer.
A new I.P. from a huge game developer should be applauded. Regardless if this may only be on Xbox, more quality games and pushing the envelope will be better for all games. I really hope this game lives up to the hype.

Tencent just throws their weight behind whatever is popular at the time because China wants them to to collect user information. Besides that obvious fact, much rather give my time and money to developers in Poland that put work into a game that looks fantastic. Trust in the artist not your own vision of what you think a good game is.
It was really impressive... then they said it was just the prologue that’s insane. This game will be legendary. CD tapping Netflix again really shows they can spawn a franchise off anything they get their hands on.

While talented and successful in the racing genre, I can't just say Playground is going to be great yet. Them adding additional talent from studios that are great in story and narrative driven games is the right way to go though, and looking forward to whatever they release. Unfortunately, I think Fable or a new IP is going to take a backseat to Forza for the time being because MS surely wants the series/racing game for the launch of the next console.
This game has my interest but I can't commit until I see reviews or hear about it from friends. It just looks so freaking cool.

Love that this developer is from Russia and that the industry is moving into new territories.
New IP with new ideas is a great plus. This game already seems so different from everything else. The lack of Russian influence and girl protagonists in games will make this one stand out for sure.
The developer is also taking a great approach with exclusivity. They can focus on the story and gameplay rather than try and get it running on everything under the sun.
This would have been better announced for a stand alone like INTERmission or Mile Morales. I think that key difference with including the PS5 upgrade kind of is grinding. They could release the upgrade free and then the expansion for $20. Solid all around.
