Power helps but is not as important as some may think.
My pc cost £3,700 and is quite a beast but my favourite and most played game is iracing which is one of the least graphically intensive games I have and is still believed by the sim racing community to be the best.
Uncluttered clean track lines, immense physics and game play.
And running on dx9. So no, power doesn't matter. But it helps.

I think the laser scanned tracks and amazing car models and great physics are the staple of any driving game, get that right first and if time and resources permit, then worry about the little things like what the crowd is made up of or what I can or can't see in my rear view mirror. Forza 5 is fantastic, quality over quantity any day of the week. Take gt6, 1200 cars and 40 tracks 100+ variations, day night cycle, dynamic lighting, weather. And how much of that was actually done right? 20% if lucky. And yes I own both games and I'm a sim fan. Wholeheartedly agree with the above comment, have been a member since 3 months into the kickstarter
and I am now a senior member and I am a little disappointed as mentioned by si-fly,more work has
gone into the pretties than the actual basics for the game ie, car physics and handling and track feedback to the wheel.In my opinion iracing, which isn't as pretty actually gets the basics right. It will be a good racer but not what it was touted to be . Here's hoping things...
